If it's grass you want taken out, you could do worse than using one of these. Annie told me about these, and what a cool idea.

Oh and eggs with a proper orange-yellow yolk.

My BIL is a chicken man. He has a couple of those tractors made from PVC and dog wire. The chickens do eat the grass down to bare ground, but wait until you move them to a new spot. The grass will be back and knee deep in no time.

My family had chickens in an enclosure. The grass, weeds, thistle, even young scrub oak were wiped out.
But this is in CA weather where we have 6 months of no rain.

A complete exaggeration. But if you were to skip hoeing your okra for a month or two. . . . . .

Thats how it is in my backyard with the Tree of Heaven. They pop up all over the place. I pulled 4 seedlings this week and already see another trying to pop up. It never stops. The last one I didn't pull grew to 15 ft before it got chopped down.

I moved another load of logs, then put the RFM on and mowed around the sheds again. Also pulled weeds across the front and part way on one side. Roofers' last email had yesterday or today as possible start time on the sheds, but it's been raining every day this week. My money is on the she shed getting delivered before we see the roofers.

Earlier in the week, I did move my car, truck and "bota and take down the garden fence to make room for the pumphouse. Still have to move lots of shit that ended up under the tarp I had used to cover the pump with.

I did get to where I could see some open stretches of road. Big trees, but not tons of brush. That is what makes it so hard.

If you zoom in, you can just make out the power pole with transformer. I need to get there, then a dog leg left for about 60 yards to reach my old camp. To get to the creek and river it is a little further.

When I wimped out on the creek road, I cut trees out of the fire break around the young long leaf pines at the river field. Did get my saw stuck, and stopped for lunch. After lunch called Sister, but she was in town at the time. She did come to help when she got home, but I had used my 208 pounds to turn the tree into a lever, and got the saw out on my own. I got everything on the ground cut down one short side. About an 1/8th of a mile. Need the tractor to move it.

Also tried to get a path cut from the turnaround over to where my orange trees are at. Didn't get much done there before I turned into a pumpkin.

The shed man called yesterday. The pumphouse will be delivered Thursday afternoon, which sucks since I have to go into work early that day. I have to clear up all the crap I had under the tarp, then mark the waterlines. The she shed will be coming in Friday morning. I'll be there for it, but it's a simple drop. I just need to flag where the corners go. It's going in pretty close to the back deck, as my wife's mobility continues to decrease. I will need to make some sort of path to make it easier for her.

When the pumphouse, sheds and pole barn all blew away, I covered the pump with a tarp. It was the only covered spot I had for a while. Lots of shit got piled under it. Got all of that moved, trash thrown away and weeds pulled. Everything but the glass. Ran out of time.

I've been having tractor issues. Cousin came down to help me try to figure out what's the problem. {looks like I need a new ignition switch} While he was there, we flipped over one 12 foot section of pole barn roof. Not easy with just the two of us. Then we pulled the other two 12 foot sections apart. After one failed attempt we stomped the connecting sheet of tin loose. Then we flipped those two sections. They almost kicked our ass. But after almost 10 months, I will be able to get the tin loose and the lumber stacked.

I haven't seen it, but I have a pumphouse. It's supposed to be 8 x 8. the same size as the one that blew away, but the wife says it looks bigger. The shed will be delivered in the morning. The dude looked at the spot when he brought the pumphouse and said it will be a simple drop.
