Root aphid + 107 degree heat damage.View attachment 4380816
This was on Wednesday how they looked. Im super depressed right now man. Everything looked so promising.
Ouchie, dude.

Can't do much about the heat.

But a spinosad root drench should help a lot with the vermin issue. I like spinosad. It works and won't make your bud unsmokable.

Two tablespoons per gallon with a dash of dish soap. I like the blue Ultra Dawn. It has no LD50.

I went way nuclear. They scoffed at spinosad and also beneficial nematodes were too slow acting. I decided to go ahead an drop the bayer bomb on em and hit em with triazicide at the same time. Im going to veg another month or so depending on how they recover. I see no aphids but the damage is done.

Yeah. Well, I didnt know they had already started to flower lol. These Gelato hardly stretch so its hard to tell. But i did notice a lil heavier preflowers the last week of july. Glad I didnt just let them flower out or else I would have probably had to just scrap them. The other plot seems to be doing betterView attachment 4380825 View attachment 4380826
Almost all my plant problems have been late in the season. So I've shortened my season. Most years the June and July planted seeds turn out so much better than the earlier ones. Less time for me to neglect them. And I keep planting right through to fall. Not much smoke in the late plants, but that is when I do most of my seed making.

There is a customer with an upcoming event who keeps calling to ask if the broken fence has been replaced. Well, the fence has been replaced. And I got the broken one delivered to the house this morning. The plan is to use a little of it to extend the fence at the graveyard. Not crazy about the fact the two ladies who did the actual work cut the rails instead of pulling out the spikes. Oh well, it's hard to get good help.

My neighbor down on the river brings some of his stuff and parks it in my side yard when the river floods. It was scheduled to flood the day after the hurricane, so he brought lots of stuff the day before. After the storm, I had made a passing comment about how much I hated this oak blowing down, and was going to try to save it if possible. I didn't think anything more of it, till a couple of days ago I was working on cutting a path into the backyard, when I noticed his jet-ski was still under the oak, and a generator was right behind that. I worked on the back side that day, cutting pines from around the genny, and worked on the oak yesterday. Not finished, but not far from it.

And it does suck cutting the tree. Now the house will be visible from the road. Even more so when I clean out the old fence row.

^^^^^^The tree in the upper right corner of the picture is now dead. All the green you see is vines. Just noticed yesterday that the leaves had died and turned brown. Fence on three sides, so lots of work before I take it down. But it will open up a spot for a pole barn without cutting hundreds of down pines.

Roofers did get mostly done on Wednesday. They had the wrong ridge cap, so they will have to replace that. And they still have the trim to do, as well as the gabled ends of the house, and where they stepped through the ceiling of the back porch when they were doing the roof. They should come back Monday or Tuesday.
