You going to insulate it?
We need to. It was hot AF working in there this morning. But most likely not. Lots of kitchen machinery going in there. We have a little back porch closet that is filled to the brim with espresso makers, toaster ovens, electric grills, bread machines, roasting ovens, etc, etc. that we use very rarely.

There is a lot of stuff saved from Mamma's trailer that has to go out there. Most of it is in my media room right now, so it will be nice having open floor space again.

So it is more of a storage room? I know the metal roofs are horrible for radiant heat.

Yes. Storage. We've been calling it a she shed because of the funny ad on TV. And it will be more the wife's stuff. Any day now the roofers will be here and I will have two sheds at my disposal. When more of the pines are gone, we will put in a pole barn too. That will be a while {at the rate I'm going}.

Most of my garden tools are on the back porch. I want to build some sort of frame to keep them organized, but they will be going in the pumphouse soon.

The shelving units we bought are a little smaller than the ones we have, so we've been transferring stuff to the new units and leaving most of them in the house, and putting the bigger ones in the shed. Ordered a couple more bigger units too.

Found lots of stuff we had forgot about buying. Such is the nature of clutter.

For the last three days I've worked on clearing fire breaks. I'm only good for about 3 hours on the chainsaw, followed by lunch and a two hour nap. At this rate I'll be done in 2-3 years.

West side of the longleaf pines at the house. This stretch was not too bad. I made it almost to the corner. Still have to move everything I cut.

Maybe just burry the trees and make a combo of hueglekultur and Swales to plant on.

If I had the equipment and the help, I could do a little of that with the broken trees at the house. But the quickest and cheapest way is to wait a couple three years, then burn them.

The pines at the river field are straightening up pretty good. Most of them are going to be alright. I just need to be able to plow {and walk} around them. You burn longleaf pines every 3-4 years, so the firebreak is for the real woods as much as for the pines.

All the shots behind the house where I was clearing for the shed may have led some of you guys to get the wrong impression about how many of the longleaf pines made it in one piece. Almost all the live trees are clustered around the house.

After several days of clearing around my longleaf pines, I did a little clearing around Sister's slash pines today. Not that I'm a kind and thoughtful brother, but it's on my hiking path, and I couldn't walk it at night without a light due to all the blowdowns. I got the worse part done, over to the landline with our cousins. They were able to get their trees cut, so it's open on their side. I trimmed those oaks up. I foresee a folding chair under there.
