My mountains are this hurricane recovery. Between what I own with my sister and my wife, I have 135'ish acres of broken timber. The land is pretty flat but most of the trees are horizontal, or learners at least. All I've tried to do is cut roads and fire trails. Haven't got a lot done so far. It's not all that rough after you get used to it. It's just that it is really slow going and there is just so much to be done, and with me working full time, 3 or 4 half days is the most I can put into it in a week. I'm too tight to hire it done. (not to mention being broke after buying the river house) So it will be years in the doing. I have five years to get it back in some kind of ag, or risk losing my green belt ag exemptions. I'm thinking of putting citrus on the 20 acres at the house. I have 20-30 pink grapefruit sprouts early on in a 50 seed seed test. Several hundred seeds on hand, so hope to get lots of them potted and kept alive until the land is ready.
