    What Am I Doing Wrong?

You purchased decent soil and worm castings - which as you said are expensive but can be worth every penny - so why not go organic soil all the way. It can be cheap too - banana peel tea for potassium supplement, wood ashes for phosphorous, etc. Take a look in the organic section and see what...

    led lighting and wattage question

Lumens is a wonderful measurement for what is was created for - measuring light as it affects the human eye. Since we see better in blue than in red, you have higher lumens with just a blue light...which as we know wouldn't grow very good bud. Umols is the unit of measure that you are looking...

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

Of the ones listed, I would get the Kessil - but purple only if you are only verging- otherwise go with magenta. Now for my real advice - save your money for a better panel. Nothing you have listed will cover the area that you want to cover. If you just want to get started with one plant...

300 watt lighthouse hydro led panel any good?

Have you looked up top at the sticky to help newbs pick LED fixtures? If you haven't, you should read at least the first few pages and search in the thread for references to lighthouse. If you still have questions, you'll probably get a better response in that thread.

IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

10 pieces of junk or a couple good fixtures like area51 or Hans, Apache etc. You haven't said a thing about your grow but if you've read any of this thread you will see that pretty much no one who actually grows with LEDs will recommend e-bay for fixture purchases; it's cheap for a reason.

LED Size Advice for Grow Room

I don't know if you've read the sticky up top for newbys but read at least the first part of it. I've been growing with LEDs both commercial and diy for well over a year and I wouldn't waste a dime of my money on anything that came off e-bay. Take some time and look at this one and read some...

You are more likely to get good advice in the led light section. First take a look at the sticky up top in that section that's meant for newbys to leds. If you aren't careful, you can really waste your money so take a little time before you spend your hard earned dough.

    bad to worse

Sometimes people count flowering time incorrectly - if you count from the time that you switch to 12/12 then you think you are about a week or so ahead of where you really are.. The led light might have caused some delay as well...but I would try taping up the led better and get rid of the...

    Mites

If you are having a persistent problem, then I'd guess that your grow environment is conducive to spider mites. Basically, they love hot and dry conditions so you can make it more inhospitable for them by lowering temp and raising humidity. That will not do it by itself since you already have...

    LED Concerns

I'm not really sure where you are getting your info and why you think that these fixtures won't last. My experience with Kessil - over a year - is that they are very reliable and are the best quality build that I have seen in an LED fixture. I do spray some canned air in the unit in between...

    Need Heat For My Grow

I don't have a separate veg/flower area at this time…but I am looking at my space again. Heating with fluorescent is possible but I think that we'd be talking quite a few watts and not a huge amount of additional useful light throughout the grow area. I could put in a couple of 125 watters...

    Need Heat For My Grow

Well, it's winter again and my LED fixtures work well at keeping heat down in the grow area - too well as a matter of fact. Last year I was surprised and just added in a milk can heater that I already had. This year I'm thinking I should get some light as well as heat for my watts/dollars...

Kessil v California Light Works... SolarFlare 200 or H350? or 2x H350 for $100 more?

DIY can be a great way to go. I've diy'd a few fixtures now and have been happy with the efforts and cost. Keep in mind that by going with the best of the best that you will be FAR more efficient than chinese/e-bay led fixtures so you may not even want 200 true watts....depends on your grow...

Kessil v California Light Works... SolarFlare 200 or H350? or 2x H350 for $100 more?

A solarflare 200 may be named 200 but it's 200 imaginary watts - it pulls 160 real watts. Each Kessil is about 85 real watts so two Kessils will provide about 170 watts as opposed to one solar flare for 160 watts. The comparable CLW unit is actually the solarflare 100 which is a few dollars more...

    general lighting question

You could use more light for flower. I'd be looking for about 50 watts per square foot...and we're talking real watts, not just the name of the fixture. Since you are working with LEDs, how about adding some Cree LED bulbs? Take a look in the LED lighting section for a thread by captain morgan...

    Airpots and Supersoil...

It looks like you may have the pots assembled incorrectly. There should be two rows at the top of closed cones so that water is retained...and it may be inside out as well... Here are assembly instructions: http://www.superoots.com/pdfs/Air-Pot-assembly-print.pdf I use airpots now and love...
