general lighting question

Hello All...looking for some advise. just started my grow room and im trying out a combo of a 180 watt ufo light in the center with 4-68 watt 2700k cfls. Im starting out with 6-plants(northern lights) in an area of 3' x 3' . My plan is to grow the plants(taken from clones) aprox 1' tall then cut to 12 hours of light. Does anybody see any issues with the amount of light ? should i add more cfls or maybe more cfls of 6000k. I like to keep things as simple as possible. Not trying to create the worlds best grow room just have alittle fun and some good smoke...Any comments of suggestions from you fellow stoners would be appreciated...Thanks alot

You could use more light for flower. I'd be looking for about 50 watts per square foot...and we're talking real watts, not just the name of the fixture. Since you are working with LEDs, how about adding some Cree LED bulbs? Take a look in the LED lighting section for a thread by captain morgan on using cree bulbs.

Also, if you haven't grown with CFLs before, you might want to take a look at a book by seemorebuds. He has some very nice pics and instructions.

Thanks for the tip... I was thinking of adding a few more cfls as they grow. I will look into the cree bulbs. Do you think it might be better to cut the hours at maybe 8" tall instead of 12" tall . I do like the idea of keeping them short and hopefully stocky
