bad to worse

Ok, so I am about ,or should be about 10 days from harvest. I got major dying leaf issues, which I have accepted I will just have to try and improve for next time

so last night, I decide its time for a tester. I know the exact location of a nice ripe looking popcorn nug ,that I can find in the dark so as not to disturb her beauty sleep. I open up the closet in the pitch black and TO MY FUCKIN HORROR , what do I see , the red LED on my fan timer shining like a mofo on the floor.

I had this covered in black tape to fix this, but it obviously hasn't been working. Light is getting out through the sides of the tape and the actual plastic of the timer.

so I have a towel thrown over it now.

Now i'm thinking , is this why she seems behind in her flowering, she looks to have another 3 weeks left but really should be ready in 1.

Gawl this growing can be a real pain in the testicles sometimes

It is possible that the red light has extended your flowering time.
That isn't to blame for your dying leaves though.
Some leaves are going to die no matter what near the end of flowering. Once the plant has used them up, they will die.
I personally try to keep my plant as green and lush as possible up to the last 10 days. The last 10 days I want my plants to use up stored nitrogen. By the last few days I should have dying fan leaves.
Of course, there are plenty who would debate this practice, but I choose how I grow. I have experimented many different ways, and to me, this brings out the best in your buds.

Sometimes people count flowering time incorrectly - if you count from the time that you switch to 12/12 then you think you are about a week or so ahead of where you really are..

The led light might have caused some delay as well...but I would try taping up the led better and get rid of the towel...just in case there's a little too much heat/a spark.

Ya... I didn't think nothing of the little lights, figured they were so small etc. it wouldn't matter. I've blacked everything out and it did help some. I figure this falls under the category "It can't hurt.."

yeah.. she hasn't hermed and is slowly getting there, if it has effected it, it must be minimal, some of the popcorn nearest it is fully red hairs.. but just damn I think I have everything covered and ive been flowering for 6 weeks with a red light lol

My guess, like others, is that if that little red light was the only light "pollution" yer gonna be fine.

I have a hard time believing that a little red led light will cause that much problems, but who knows.

Very slim odds that has slowed flowering time really. And dying leaves are natural at the end of flower if u have stopped feeding nitrogen which I usually stop at week 4/5 of flower. And are u feeding only water or flushing as some people like to call it

thanks for the reassurance guys. Sorry can't get pics up . The leaf problem has been present for a few weeks even though i'm giving nutes that include n . Its not an n problem, it started from the top leaves and worked down, and looks more like a burn than a def , i'm stumpted, though I did give her too much at one stage I think..actually maybe for a few weeks., I'm days away from most of the plants leaves being all dead and I have another 10 days to go

Next time around, if you use vegging nutrients if you run them a little longer into flower, like say another 2 weeks or so, you might find that your leaves stay healthier and green longer down the line. At least that was the case for me and how I solved leaves dying out too soon.
