the republicans must reinvent or go extinct

They can start by discontinuing their disenfranchisement of young libertarians who so passionately flooded their party during the primaries. Another big help would to pick up and run with marijuana legalization.
I agree with this 100%. On the point about marijuana legalization, obviously many of us on this forum agree with it but consider the public at large even... Colorado and Washington voters to point to the most obvious examples. Mitt Romney's vow to fight marijuana legalization "tooth and nail" is out of step with the prevailing beliefs of the electorate. Repubs need to take a real hard look at this. On the one hand they preach 'small government' yet on the other hand they want to dictate personal choices like marijuana use or abstinence to citizens. I almost fell off my chair when I heard Willard "tooth and nail" Romney's own voice on a last minute election ad talk about "restoring personal liberty." Just what exactly does he think that means????

I think that the repub party feels that a marijuana prohibition stance is needed to appease the Christian conservative faction of their party, but even televangelist Pat Robertson has publicly stated that marijuana should not be illegal!!!

They have a young hopeful. A Republican John F. Kennedy if you will. His name is, George P. Bush. Feelers are already going out and his name is popping up randomly in the media. They have one big obstacle. His face.

La rasa! Y'all.... shoooooot. He has one thing going for him that Romney didn't. He doesn't have to use a spray on tan to look ethnic.
