A tax analogy, who's really paying their fair share?

beenthere. can you do me a solid? can you please tell me what the total combined tax percentage of someone who makes between ~$35,000 and, I believe, ~$74,000 is?

i agree.

taking $1,140 out of a $4,560 paycheck is a form of getting owned, but gainful employment is gainful employment.

netflix started going downhill right after they cleaned house.
Buckie, I don't need a confession from you, it's out in the open for everyone to see.

You were proven to be flat out WRONG, you FAILED.

Effective or marginal?
Not sure what you are implying by combined.

i agree, it is out in the open for everyone to see that 25% federal taxes were deducted from my paycheck in my capacity as head trainer for the #1 customer service operation in the nation.

how's the knee doing?

would pictures of my erection help you?

sorry to hear they cut the fat...
i'm not.

i got a massive severance and almost tip top unemployment insurance.

i gave up about $5k worth of unemployment to go back to work a while later but still collected between $25-30k in "free" money between UI and severance. had a lot of time to devote to learning the art and science of cannabis growing as well.

getting "fired" from netflix was possibly the best thing that ever happened to me professionally.

(fired is in quotes because people who get fired can't collect UI, but a little birdie in the HR department who attended my poker games told me to apply anyway because i would get it due to their previous hiring/firing practices)

I didn't even imply they fired you. generally when companies downsize staff, the remaining staff wear the burden of the changes; more work, longer hours, same pay

what a shitty deal for those people. i wish more people knew their self worth and had enough courage and self respect to act on it.

so many people resign themselves to that kind of lot in life, just like i used to.

losing that job was the best thing that ever happened to me. sometimes you can never break down that wall unless you are forced to.

i have the returns, i can prove it.

sorry that your "analogy" was anything but analogous and you have no resort other than to pretend to know more about me than i do.

Just as I said, you are full of shit and have no frigging clue what you are talking about.
Your handy dandy chart is nothing but a progressive tax table! LMFAO

If your agi is $35k, your taxable income is about 24k so the effective tax rate on that income is around 9%, and that's filing single with no child tax credit or no deductions.
You're nothing but a big mouth progressive with no life experience. But what a big game you talk on the forums. You got busted lying about taxes you do not pay, so I'll assume you lie about everything else.

i can take pictures of my 2008 and 2009 returns.
Where's that proof Bucky? LOL
sitting in my garage with the rest of my paperwork.

BUSTED!

You told us all you would produce a tax return, you knew it would only prove you wrong so you tried to slide by by posting a pic of a pay stub, you're a liar and got caught, just like your butt buddy, Obama.

GFC has seen a lot of downsizing, layoffs and redundancies - what you're describing is very common ATM, regardless of country

Speaking of stupid!
This coming from a guy who shows us nothing and provides nothing of value, and only tries to create drama from others. You never look at yourself, you only reflect. You provide no valuable information to anyone. You are on a pot forum and have never provided valuable growing advice.

What exactly are you after here? Besides what you think is the truth?

yes, i'm aware. very shitty for people like my neighbor, former veteran turned maintenance guy, jack of all trades and master of none. exactly the guy you want to call whether you locked yourself out, need help replacing your spark plugs, or want to know how best to plant your garden.*

he's getting up in years and doing fine for himself, but getting absolutely pinched by unscrupulous corporations taking advantage of the recession and flood of qualified people looking for such work.

luckily, a job opening popped up for him. all he has to do is pour some water, turn on lights, check for fires every now and then, and he takes half my harvest every month.

i'm happy that the guy got a nice second job from a fair employer.
