purple urkle and gsc grow

All the nutes I've been using are all chemical nutes, I didn't wanna do the organic line from general hydro lol.
And Thor, I've been noticing how long the urkle does take. For instance my GSC is forming up very nicely and coming along fairly quick but the urkle is finally just starting to form hairs and the leaves are just starting to crystallize a little compared to the GSC being covered all over lol. Ooh nice that sounds like a pretty potent strain.
Ya I knew the organics usually took a bit longer to mix in so I wanted to go chemical and not have to wait for it all to get going. I've been using the liquid grow and bloom nutes but thinking about going to powder, seems like it lasts a lot longer and mixed in a lot easier and quicker.
For what I'm trying to accomplish with my grows I'm going to stick with chemical nutes, seems like they have most everything my plants need and it's already in them. Is there more pros to doing an organic grow? It seems like the supplies are a bit cheaper than organic also, just from what I've seen.
Is the aqua shield an organic additive? Things are looking pretty good in the room besides the urkle taking it's damn time lol. And the leaves were wilted on the urkle but seem to be coming back around and starting to take off.
I used the koolbloom in my outdoor GSC this last summer and it added some weight to them and added soo many more crystals it was ridiculous, I deff like the koolbloom.

Yeah, I mean personally I wouldn't go adding things bc it sounds like your system is working out for you. Especially with the gsc, its probably just a better pheno than the urkle. I'm running a bunch of white lavenders in flower right now in my soil/organic grow and they're at week 3, filling out nicely buy not as crystally as I would like at this point.

There are definitely pros and con's to soil/hydro/aero/synthetic/organic/whatever. I started out with soil and the roots organic master pack bc soil and organic is more forgiving. BUT, the growth is way slower so I since then switched to aeroponic, which gives me super fast results but I haven't put them in flower yet so I can't speak for quality.

Personally tho, from my experience with organics, it can absolutely get the most potential out of your plants. I plan on keeping some soil plants going for a while, but probably just my better strains. The bulk will prolly be aero. What I've been doing lately, and its really made a big difference, is switching my feedings on my soil plants from the roots organics to my botanicare hydro nutes every time I feed. Like I'll feed with synthetic, then feed organic, then flush. I'll work up to stronger feedings then I'll flush real good and start back at lower strength feedings. I've had the fastest flower growth I've seen yet (again, haven't seen my aero flower) and they have been responding really well. If I can fit my aero setup in my tent under my 1000 watt with my five other big plants I'm liable to get like 1.5 grams per watt. I'm just shooting for at least 1 gpw tho

It's working out quite nicely and a lot better than when I did my last indoor (first time) grow lol. Lots of learning and screw ups but this site has helped so much more than I thought it could. Ya I got very lucky with this pheno of GSC, it did a awesome outdoor and is doing even better indoors. Is that an indica strain? I'm sure in the next two weeks they'll get a lot more crystaly.

For me it seems like the hydro is a little more forgiving but I'm still kinda a newb so everything is learning. You got a couple pics of your plants in the aero set up?

I haven't heard of anyone doing that, are they liking it? That's a neat experiment. I don't think I'll ever go back to soil after getting my hands on my hydro equipment. That would be awesome to reach that 1.5 gram per watt mark. I'm shooting for 1 gram per watt and we'll see how close I get or reach it. I got a couple pics from when the lights just came on.

Day 31 of 12/12 and things haven't changed too much. The GSC is starting to fill out, the purple urkle is finally starting to get some white hairs on it and the purple diesel is opening up and starting to flower. I'm pretty excited to see the purple diesel run it's course, I had sour diesel in soil in my first indoor attempt last year and things went horrible and the buds were super airy. This is my second grow and I switched it up to flood and drain and things are going great.

Thanks man! None of the other plants have been able to keep up with her, she's filling out more and more everyday amd has that sweet earthy smell but a hint of sour at the same time. I'm stoked to see how she finishes indoor since I had the same thing outdoor last year. Here's some more pics of her at around day 33 or 34 I believe as today is day 36.

Day 40 for the GSC and purple urkle and not much has changed except for the GSC filling in some more and the purple diesel (day 20ish) starting to form some nice little buds. Ph has been staying right around 5.7-5.8 like I've wanted it and ppm's are about 1000. Has anyone seen the tops of colas do what my GSC is doing? What I'm talking about is in the first picture, I'm kinda stumped. It looks like it's reveging or something.

Another quick thing. The leaves on the purple diesel are kind of wilted a little like what my purple urkle was doing. Could that be cause the plants don't like how high the ppm is? I added some calmag at half strength to see if that would help and I haven't been able to notice a difference yet but I only added it in the res yesterday.

Top cola looks mutant freakish.........so you don't add cal mag every time to your regime when you feed during the flower cycle?

There's only two that are like that, I've never seen that happen before. I do not, I added it yesterday or the day before cause my purple strains seemed like they needed a little but I'm doing a res change tomorrow and won't add any in the change. Have you ever seen top colas do that? The only ones that did that were the ones that were ab

The only ones that did that were the ones that were about 4"-10" away from the light. All the others look normal and fine.

Damn, I'm trying to find it online and can't. Any ideas? Those were the closest ones to the light but I put my hand up there and it isn't too hot for them so I don't know what could be causing it. Maybe they'll be super big colas in the end haha

Yeah kind of like the aliens movies when the alien opens its mouth then another one comes out of the original mouth....lol

Haha it totally does. Hopefully it's a huge alien cola lol. Gave the purple urkle plants a little hair cut to get some more light in there on the bud sites. At the bottom of one of the plants there's a huge nug but it's at the very base/stalk of the plant though (first pic). Anyone seen this either? Lol

I'll post some up this evening when the lights come on. They're really filling out nicely. I did a res change last night and switched from the floranova grow and bloom to the maxibloom and grow, well just the grow for now and the dry koolbloom. Has anyone used these before? I've heard that people have needed to add calmag, anyone else heard the same?

Day 43 of 12/12!
Things are still chugging along, hairs on the GSC are finally starting to turn. I'm thinking I have about 20 days left or so but we'll see as it gets closer. I got a little bored today and started a mini closet grow alongside my tent. It's a purple punch (indica 7-8 week) and it's on the bottom shelf of a cupboard with two cfl's around it. Got a couple pics of it and quite a few of the GSC.

Day 50 of 12/12
They're still putting on a little weight but mainly the hairs are starting to change, getting that nice amber color to them. Trichomes are finally getting mostly milky, waiting for the amber ones! But two or three of the tops of my GSC seems like it's revegging and it looks kinda odd. I don't really know what's going but we'll see how they turn out, just making bigger main colas it seems like. The purple urkle is really starting to take on the purple in it, most of the fan leaves have turned purple and the nugs are starting to get a nice purple to them. Should be some strong smoke in the end, I'm hoping to give em the axe in two weeks but we'll see.
