purple urkle and gsc grow

I started up a new grow, this will be my second attempt as my first grow turned out very airy, a couple weeks ago on november 15th. I have 5 purple urkles and 2 girl scout cookie plants. I'm doing a flood and drain table with a 40 gallon res. Water temps stay around 68-72*F and room temps vary from 66-75*F. I chose to use hydroton instead of rockwool as i heard they were a little easier to manage and that you can flood multiple times a day versus rockwool cubes only once to twice a day. I'm using general hydroponics nutrients floranova line with the grow, bloom and koolbloom and possibly going to add another. Any suggestions? My ppms stay right around 500 and no higher than 530 and my ph stays right around 6.0. I've been flooding 5 times a day for 20 minutes with 4 hours inbetween.

They look lovely already. I like to keep my hood closer to the plants, around a foot above them is just a suggestion.

thank you. i started the purple on november 15th and i started the gsc seeds about a month before from seed. im thinking of vegging for 4 weeks than flipping them to flower, should i wait longer or shorter? i was thinking of adding humbolts county purple maxx and was wondering if anyone has used it in the last few weeks of flower? ive heard it works wonders on purple plants and was thinking about getting some.

When you flip is all up to you. The longer you veg the bigger the plant and that = bigger yield. I like to see at least a foot high from my plants before I flip. Although I am reconsidering that with my new setup(Aeroponics) I guess it depends on how your growing. Are you going to be doing anything to them or are you just going to let them grow naturally?

i was thinking either about 10-12" or when they hit a month. i have already topped the gsc twice and the purple urkle one time and was going to fim them. i was thinking about lst'ing them but not sure as they are already going to be pretty bushy with topping them and theyre indica. id like to get atleast a pound or more from the 7. theyve been turning out real nice so far. i lowered the light a little but should i keep my light at 300 watt if i bring it down or do 75% and make it 450 watt. i just dont want to burn the 5 little guys.

So you got a 450 MH? I'd burn it full blast. I run my 600 w full blast from start to finish. Well all I can speak for is topping and supercropping And I grow indica as well and I usually top twice and supercrop to try and keep it all even. Six plant for me in dirt I was averaging 3 ounces a plant. I got six going now in areoponics(first time)and I hope to at least see 5 ounces a plant so thats 30 onze, close to a pound so your goal is realistic.

I have a 600 watt light with my mh bulb in right now for veg. I have it turned down to 50% and just bumped it up to 75% for 450 watts. What is super cropping again? I always get them mixed up lol. That's a very good turn out, my first grow was soil and did not turn out well for me. Those will be some big plants to get 5 ounces per, good luck with that man. I'm really hoping mine get that big lol.

Info about supercroping.
image.jpgI took that 6 day after flipping and defoliating. These plants are 36 day's old.

Nice setup you have.

I actually ended up super cropping my plants without knowing what it was called. I've done it to the bigger GSC and waiting to do it to the others. Very nice, are those the new batch? Thank you, I picked up the tray, stand, res and pump for $100 off of craigslist a couple weeks ago. I'm really excited to see how these turn out. I've never grown a purple before so it will be interesting.

Ya thats my new ones I never grew this strain of kush in these buckets before. They are growing funny because I screwed up a fim job. Ya I waited to long with the big one in the back but I have been supercroping it and the rest of the plants are catching up to it now.

Not bad setup you got for a 100.00 I just bought a identical rig for my bro and that cost me almost 800.00.

They look like they're doing great. Have you flipped them to 12/12 yet? I've been trying to let my clones catch up to the GSC and they seem to be getting a little bigger day by day. Ya they can be pricey, I found the package deal on craigslist and jumped on it when I saw it. The tray and stand alone were almost 400 new and than the res and pump. I've prob gotten close to 1500 in my tent altogether.

Has anyone ever used humbolt county's purple maxx? I'm wanting to get some as to test it out with the purples and have heard some good but just seeing if anyone has used it.

Hi, I would like some opinions on using hydroponics versus other systems. What I had in mind is using something like this here: http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=713 . I know this is an expensive way to start but do you think I would be able to produce 4-8 oz per plant using this system? Is there anything else I would need besides the clones to start this? Would you have a rough idea of an electric bill with just this system? Would I be able to harvest within 3 months? I would like to start with a good strain with high yield potential that can be done start to finish in 3 months. Your thoughts and ideas are very much appreciated.

That's an awesome system but pretty high of a price. If you were to get that system all you would need is clones to get started. I have not gotten my first electric bill yet but I believe a 1000 watt light would cost about $50 a month to run, I use a 600 and it's about $30-40 a month so just a guess. That also seems like kind of a right fit with that 55 gallon res and 6 big pots, you could deff pull out some big plants from that tho. I got my tent and filters and lights off of amazon one piece at a time and if I was to buy my hydro system off of there I think it would run about a grand cheaper than the system you were looking at just IMO. Green crack is a fairly quick flowering plant with decent yield, as long as you only veg for about 4-6 weeks you should have no problem doing a 12-13 week start to finish harvest. Look up some strains on www.leafly.com they tell you everything you need to know about times and quality and also yield and what not. Hope this helped!

I've been getting some green algae on my hydroton and haven't been able to figure out a cover for my table yet. Any suggestions to help get rid of the table or what I could use for a cover?

Ah that's always shitty to find a male hiding in there. Both of my GSC should be female but they were from seed so you never know. Those are my favorite strain of all time so I'm hoping I get lucky with the females

That green shit on your hydroton I wouldn't worry about that to much. Do you use peroxide? or something similar ? If not then it wouldn't hurt to try some. I find with my setup all I had to do was make sure there was moving air on the lids and the hydroton stayed dry.
I knew I had a male or two as these were reg seeds so I hope thats all of them but there probably one more in there.
