Chapter 8: Day 68 of 12/12
The garden is already starting to look a little smaller. I won't be turning any of the lights off as I need the heat.
I misspoke yesterday when I said the 1st Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips would be coming down this morning. It was actually a Forest Queen x Cobra Lips...my bad. Everything else I said was true. It was very resinous. It was an outlier. I'll share closeups of everything during the cure...don't worry.

Nothing is on the docket to be chopped tomorrow. The next plant to be chopped will likely be the Lemon Hashplant - but I'm thinking Sunday or Monday for her.

Chapter 8: Day 69 of 12/12
I've been running 11:30 on, 12:30 off for the last 30 days or so. I usually like to drop the light cycle gradually but because I'm not on a schedule this time, I decided to keep them on this for longer than I normally would. I ended up shaving 15 minutes off of the lights on time and the lights off time so entering day 70, we're going to be at 11 on, 13 off.

I ended up posting an update on the Bodhi journal before this one...I almost never do that. So I'm a bit tired of typing. I have a few filler plants in this round...stuff that I thought might be worth trying. Among them was Sensi Seeds Research #11. I wish I had more hands so I could give this 4 thumbs down. The 1st one fell over like the little bitch she was. #2 and #3 hermied terrible. And #4 is still alive but every day I find myself asking "Why in the fuck am I keeping this alive?"

Chapter 8: End of day 70 (Part 1)

We're getting into the deep waters now - I've only gone past 70 days a few times and not very far past. This time looks to be different. I predict extra innings!

Let's start with Lemon Lotus. I have 2 of these but chose to focus on only one of them. The one I shot tonight is arguably the better one. She's shorter than #2 but a bit more dense and compact. To put in boxing terms, #1 is Hagler and #2 would be Hearns.

Chapter 8: End of day 70 (Part 2)
I've been working with Bodhi gear almost exclusively for the last 18 months but I threw in a few others this round. Let's showcase one of my favorites.

Amherst Sour Diesel from Humboldt Seed Organization. These guys seem to often get a bad rap but I have nothing negative to say.
I have 3 of these right now but chose to shoot only my favorite. The two others are pretty nice too.




This plant just looks spectacular. Giant cola from top to bottom despite showing obvious sativa fan leaf tendencies. No fuss with food. No fuss with light.

We'll see how she finishes and reviews but she's looking great so far!

I have no official opinion yet. My limited experience with it - yes, you are correct. That said, it was also during the period when I was experimenting with living organic soil. These times were riddled with problems. Endless problems.

I bought several packs afterwards just in case...

Chapter 8: Day 73 of 12/12 (Part 1)

3 plants came down this morning and I was not able to shoot any of them.
Plant 1) Lemon Hashplant - This was a planned chop but I did not work last night so it didn't get shot. There will be pre-cure shots.
Plant 2) HSO Chem - She fell over from being too top heavy and snapped her stem.
Plant 3) Sensi #11 - I went to water her and she toppled over almost breaking her stem. She was lying completely horizontal. All 3 of these Sensi #11's were terrible anyway. I was waiting for an excuse to get rid of her.

Nothing on the docket for the next days - unless more plants fall and hurt themselves.

I've got 14 pictures tonight. I'll do 7 and 7. Not much commentary but they are named well.

I've been gradually dropping my feeding and am now around 0.65 EC or so. I've never really been a subscriber of heavy feeding, anyway I also think flushing is dumb. If anyone is curious, just ask and I'll share my thoughts.

I'm always at the mercy of the weather when it comes to drying. Since I live in New England, it's pretty damned cold still. When the 1st plants were chopped, the temps in my basement were ~ 52F. We got a bit of a warm spell and they've been ~ 57F for the last week or so.

I'm hanging full plants - no wet trimming. Average conditions are 55 degrees F and RH at 61%. One thing I've learned over the years, is that RH is the super important variable. I'd like my temps to be a bit higher but I can work with it. I'll share more details on my strategy over the next 2 weeks, but basically here it is:

Full Plant hang dry for 7 to 8 days.
Chop large fan leaves and continue to hang for another day.
Break down flowers off of stems and remove some of the secondary fan leaves - the ones you have to dig in a bit to get to.

This is where it gets interesting and is what I'm experimenting with right now.
I bought a case of pizza boxes. I acclimate the pizza boxes to my basement which is roughly at 60% RH.
I place the broken down flowers into the pizza boxes on top of parchment paper for 2 days. This acts as a pre-cure.

The whole idea here is that I'm not interested in sweating flower in jars. I'd much rather do that in the pizza box. The cardboard gives me a a huge margin of error as it will absorb moisture if the flowers are too wet still. It will also provide a still environment. Not air tight of course, but completely void of air movement. I can open the boxes once daily until they have settled at around 60%. The other big factor is that I can lay them next to one another instead of stacking them on top of each other.

When I take them from the box to the jar, I know they are perfect. No daily burps. No hygrometers. No boveda packs.

I'm still experimenting, so take everything I just said with a grain of salt!

I'll follow up with you on smells as we get a little further.
My room is running a bit colder than I would like and I lot drier than I would like so they actually aren't giving off a ton of odor right now.
The one thing I can say, is that many (but not all) of the Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips plants I have a pretty uninspiring smell. Kind of that generic spicy/earthy smell that does NOT make you say OOH.

Chapter 8: Day 76 of 12/12 (Part 1)

I'm going to start with Amherst Sour Diesel from Humboldt Seed Company. I have a handful of their offerings running right now. They sometimes get a bad rap and I'm not really sure why. At any rate, this is one of my favorite plants in the whole garden. She represents what I would say is the perfect 12/12 from seed plant. I could quite comfortably fit four of these per sq/ft. She grew into basically one giant cola starting 1 inch above the container. She is showing off her amazing fade. No ETA yet but 2 or 3 more days is my guess.

Chapter 8: Day 76 of 12/12 (Part 2)

Here is one of the Super Silver Hashplant x Cobra Lips Bodhi crosses I made. Average appearance. Sub-par nose. Above average flower development. I'll write up a detailed summary when she finishes.
