Thanks so much MC. You have been most helpful. These next 2 or 3 weeks should be very exciting because of the swelling. The big one looks a week or so behind to you doesn't it?

Maybe but this is the time they sneak up on you if they look a little behind. Had that happen on a couple of grow. Naw, that one won't be done! Oh Shit! Trichs say it's done! Water only . . quick! Speaking of which are you going to flush! If your using SH nutes then the concensus is you don't need to but if your using store bought nutes then I would. At least a little at the end. I'm just chicken shit to change my regular routine. Did various flushes from 10 days to as short as 4 days on some grows. It's just that my stuff is so smooth right after they dry that it must be helping. Hey, there's logic in there somewhere! LOL!

I know that Roseman does not see any reason to flush but I am going to for at least a couple days just to be on the safe side. Probably about a week as long as I get the timing right. Who wants harsh buds, right?

Can't do much harm with a flush but it can be some good. You also getting to the stage where I usually start torturing my plants. Intentional stress they call it. The theory is that by damaging the plant slightly you make it throw all it's thc at the buds. You twist the stems, stick thumbtacks in the stem and all branches, lower the lights then raise the lights. Just trying to piss the plant off to get it to react. If you do it inthe last couple of weeks it has not time to herm on you before you cut. Also, I turn off the lights completely for the last 48 hours. Just a couple of things I do. Not sure how much more if any I get but it's good to let out your sadistic side every once in awhile! LOL!

Haha! I have heard tha "intentional stress" at the very end will increase THC production but I don't think anyone has ever done a comparison study. Someone should do that one day. Anyway, I think I will do a little bit of torturing in hopes that it will do something. Thanks for the tip!

Today is 47 days since the switch. I took pics of everything from my pet that's keeping out the bugs, to the roots. I'm thinking less than 2 weeks left for my two small girls but the big one might have to go an extra week or so. What do you all think? You can see the hairs beginning to die and change color on the little girls. I am SO EXCITED! Thanks for stopping in. Peace :peace:

Pic 1: My spider buddy
Pic 2: The whole setup
Pic 3: Healthy undergrowth with lots of little "popcorn" buds
Pic 4: HUGE root balls
Pic 5-7: Tops of my big girl
Pic 8-10: Tops of one of the small girls
Pic 11-12: Tops of my red strain
Oh yes, these are coming along nicely! Looks like you've got a bunch of nice bud coming there Lt! I wish I was as close to harvest as you are, but it'll happen.

Now, don't be too rough on those plants (lol) and have a great weekend!

:peace:

Well I just got back from a fun Thanksgiving weekend. Food, family, and football really go well together. I have good news and terrible news. Good news is today marks 53 days since switching to 12/12. Buds are swelling nicely although not really any pics to show. Most trichs are still clear with a couple cloudy ones but they are definitely getting very close. Bad news is one of my roommates cut off 3 tops over the weekend and took them I guess. I'm about ready to kill him when he gets home later. What kind of person steals anything on Thanksgiving weekend? Although, he did leave a little nug that is officially my first harvested bud.

OK so I might be paranoid, but should I be worried if a guy from the electric company just came to my house? He said he was sent to check out a voltage spike but didn't say anything else. All he did was check my power meter then left. I didn't think it was possible for a 400w light to attract any attention but could that be why they came to my house?

i really hope not.. i dont think a 400w light can do that when it shuts off every 12 hours.. and if you leave everything else off during day then it basically balances itself out. do you pay the electric?? see a huge increase in amount?? thats one way it has to be significant and they think your going to make a good amount of $ from the grow.

I really doubt you have anything to worry about. You're burning watts, not voltage. The volts stay constant, I'm running everything on 110 volts, which is typical household current, but clothes dryers and ranges will use 220 volts.

The more lights I turn on increases the watts used, that's what they would monitor for excessive consumption, but the voltage stays the same. The electric company has to maintain a constant voltage to prevent damage to whatever is plugged in.

Great explanation! Thanks for the info, that's pretty much what I was thinking.

Well it turns out that neither of my roommates were home this weekend so my only other thought is that my one of my landlord's guys did it.

Yeah I'm worried but there's not really anything I can do about it. At least I will be finished this grow in a couple weeks and I guess I'll have to wait until next year to do my second grow because I am not growing here anymore.
