Not only has there been a 17% increase in hate crimes since Trump took office, but int he counties he hit leading up to it, there was a 226% increase in hate crimes. They don't go as far as blaming Trump for it, but he obviously has provided fuel for the hate fire. My guess would be that those counties he hit were some of the hardest hit with data-driven trolling by the Saudis/Russians/Trump paid trolls pushing the hate filled propaganda.

Show up to a rally and sign up, connect with Facebook, and boom, all your real friends and family are now targets for these trolls.

Here is the interactive heat map with their data:

Talk to your families, especially if Trump visits your area. Because it is likely they think the world is ending and cannot actually see that things are constantly getting better even if they don't know it from the online/radio/tv information they absorb.

You sound like a rejected Air Supply idea they had before coming up with one of their hits.

'Cause you are my lady
And I am your man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn of the power of love

I always thought you were a drama queen, but never said a thing out of kindness since you never outright attacked me. Then I just got fed up with your purity tests against me, so I just thought screw it.

Hate crimes not up because of trump. People are tired of the Democrats handing illegals everything
226% increase in hate crimes in counties that Trump held rallies says different.

You should not believe liars who are lying to you about the Democrats in an effort to get you to vote for them.

In the above post I checked only the same timeframe for both Trump and Obama's presidency, but figured I would glance at Obama's entire presidency to compare with Trump's.

Still not even close when you compare Obama's 8 years vs Trump's not quite 4.

So, Fox News, right wing media and the embrace of white terrorism by the Republican Party had less to do with that than Russia?

The following is about coronavirus but it is a good summary of how much of an effect the right wing echo chamber has on people's attitudes and behavior.

Personally, I think Fox and other right wing media outlets get the lions share of the blame and Russia is a secondary effect. If the right wing media had come out strongly against white terrorism perhaps things would not be so dire.

Its the data analysis driven propaganda spam with combining the mental fuckery of their troll army that the Russians can do (since they don't have to follow our election laws) that I would point to as the real danger that is bringing all these nuts together in large enough numbers they think that they can safely act on their crazy.

Combined that with the competition of Fox news propaganda sites like OANN or any of the other ones we have seen @Bugeye post here that are obvious Russian/foreign nation popup sites that harden the bubbles of any particular narrative they wish to push. I also have not seen any Fox news linked malware aimed at data collection.

Fox does it's part by not covering any news (at least not without someone to spin it) to let this crazy thrive on the right, but I don't see them actively sorting people out online and pushing people together with likeminded crazy.

Trump of course has done his part too, along with many others in the Republicans party.

I think that the pre-Snowden/Russian militarization on our society in late 2013-2014 as shown in the Senate/Mueller reports and the above map of the hate crimes is pretty clear. Fox was around since the early 90s, and it wasn't until 2014 that the explosion can be easily seen to have occurred. 253 hate crimes in the 8 years leading up to the documented attack by Russia, and over 15,000 in the 8 years after.

Fox and hate radio are defiantly not innocent on the right wing fanning. But the polarization on the left though was the real genius of what the Russian military did to us, and that is not on Fox (IMO, maybe they are in on the scam, but I think their scams (and Republicans) got hijacked and used to trigger all the people they were brainwashing by the Russians when Snowden brought the NSA files to Putin).

After several Joe Biden yard signs went missing near his family farm, Dicken Crane decided to do one better.

On the sprawling property in the Berkshires, Crane and his employees used more than a dozen bales of hay to erect a giant sign last Thursday in support of the Democratic presidential candidate. Wrapping the bundles in white plastic and stacking them 15 feet high, he wanted to ensure the endorsement stood out to the cars passing by on Route 9.

All seemed well when he checked up on the display the next day as he ran a tractor in a nearby field, he told the Berkshire Eagle. But “when I turned around again, it was ablaze.”

The fire remained a mystery, rattling the staff at Holiday Brook Farm as well as the close-knit town of Dalton, Mass., until police announced Sunday that they had arrested Lonnie Durfee, 49, and charged the local resident with burning personal property.

Weeks away from Election Day, the blaze is the latest ugly episode illustrating an especially charged campaign season, even in suburban cul-de-sacs and quiet country roads like those in Dalton. In 2020, political yard signs are devolving into a charred symbol of the country’s polarization.

The latest battlefield in a heated presidential campaign: Front yards bearing Biden signs

Biden supporters in Pennsylvania and Trump fans on Martha’s Vineyard say gunshots have been fired at signs supporting their preferred candidates. Last month, a government employee enforcing yard sign rules in Michigan received a dozen stitches after he sliced his hand on razor blades affixed to a Trump banner.

And in Dalton, a town of nearly 7,000 people in western Massachusetts, Biden supporters said their signs keep getting stolen, again and again.

Trump banners were staying up nearby without any issues, said Crane, the fourth-generation owner of Holiday Brook Farm. So he set aside a small corner of the property to put up 1,200-pound bales that would hold up much more easily to the petty theft roiling the town.

“We thought, ‘Let someone try to steal these,’ ” he told the Boston Globe. “It wasn’t an anti-Trump thing; it was just to match the pro-Trump banners. This wasn’t meant to anger anybody or done in anger.”

Screen Shot 2020-10-12 at 10.14.13 AM.png

The sign was a hit among some passersby, immediately drawing them to stop driving and take photos. By the end of the day on Friday, Kate Carney Pike, a farm manager who helped build the sign, noticed an odd brown stain on some of the bales. But she paid it no mind, figuring someone had perhaps spilled coffee while getting a closer look, she told the newspaper.

Minutes later, firefighters were on the scene, working for nearly an hour to extinguish a blaze that sent thick black plumes of smoke into the air.

Crane later found that the hay still inside the few remaining bales was cool to the touch, indicating that the fires did not spontaneously combust, as can sometimes happen with hay. “But it’s hard to explain,” he told the Eagle. “Six minutes later it was on fire, but there was nobody there.”

As news of the blaze made waves well beyond Massachusetts — drawing messages of support and donation offers, including at least one from a Trump supporter — Pike told iBerkshires.com that the farm has been overwhelmed with the response.

“The sign was loud, the sign was big,” she said, but “the amount of support and attention that it has received since is just bigger than the sign."

Crane and the farm are still deciding whether to create another display in support of Biden and Harris. And Crane, for his part, said he wants to put up something that can unify his town.

For now, there is little space left on the handful of bales that were salvaged from the blaze. So rather than try to re-create the Biden-Harris message, Pike instead opted for something more to the point: the word “VOTE,” beside a single American flag.

Think tank Political Research Associates recently mapped the connections between leaders in sheriff departments nationwide and far-right and anti-immigrant movements. PRA looked at sheriffs with connections to the “patriot” movement’s Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association and Constitution Club as well as the anti-immigrant Federation for American Immigration Reform, two groups that the organization says encourage sheriffs “to become increasingly vocal supporters of right wing policies.”

According to PRA, the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association is the “flagship organization for law enforcement” of the “patriot” movement, a loose collection of extremist anti-government groups and efforts that tend to be pro-conspiracy theory and anti-gun control. The Southern Poverty Law Center says the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association is engaged in “a concerted, long-term effort to recruit law enforcement officers into the antigovernment ‘Patriot’ movement.”

The Federation for American Immigration Reform, known as FAIR, meanwhile, is a hate group “masquerading as a public policy think tank” founded by the late white nationalist John Tanton as a way to transform America into a majority-white state.

Using PRA’s map of far-right and anti-immigrant aligned sheriffs and Media Matters’ internal database of weekday cable news, which goes back to August 2017, we found that 25 such sheriffs have made 83 weekday appearances on the network. Of those, 8 had a connection to the “patriot” movement, 8 had a connection to FAIR, while another 9 had connections to both groups. Fox & Friendshad the most appearances by right-wing sheriffs, with 33 of the 83 total appearances coming on the show. However, these far-right sheriffs weren’t just limited to “opinion” shows like Fox & Friends; 19 of the 83 appearances occurred on Fox’s “straight news” shows.

Over the past few years, Fox has used these sheriffs to push extreme stances on gun control and immigration. Most recently, Fox has hosted some of these sheriffs to boast about defying coronavirus lockdown orders. Overall, these sheriffs have aided Fox in pushing far-right talking points — notable as Fox continues to have major influence over policy changes from the White House.
Turns out the racist sheriff in Michigan that was hanging out with the domestic terrorists that wanted to kidnap Mi's Gov. Whitmer is one of these radicalized sheriffs.

Just another reason why they are called pigs!

People like that are the scum of our society.

It sucks that the white supremacist movement has infiltrated our police.

Because it makes it impossible to not think that people like this cop policing the way they do is not due to racism.

That coupled with those moments that too many men use force to make themselves feel better, we need to do a lot of work policing our society.

Isn't that what the democrats are touting? You are saying the world is constantly getting better. Isn't Trump ruining everything? Isnt that why he needs to be removed from office?
