I dont agree. Our government is designed to work for us, to see to the basic needs of our society and to work to keep us safe. Unfortunately people have fallen for what they have seen online and were not ready for it. And with the help of Fox News and right wing billionaires buying up the local news stations they created a really nice bubble on the right.

Racists, evangelical, and conspiracy theorists really got the ball rolling, and the Republicans co-opted the first two because racists were already part of their base and evangelicals easily tricked into believing that the Democrats are baby killers with nonsense like 'pro-abortion'.

The Russians jumped on this in 2014 and with online tools and data analysis were able to effectively rip our society apart at the seems and create a cult for Donald Trump. So I am with you there.

But the trick is that they also painted it that the Democrats are also a cult, by trying to make Obama out to be 'the messiah', but he never fell into that trap. The Russians/Right wing media are still trying to make it out like the Democrats are a cult, but they can't, because we really don't have, want, or need a cult leader. We just need people to do their jobs and govern the country.

Not only has there been a 17% increase in hate crimes since Trump took office, but int he counties he hit leading up to it, there was a 226% increase in hate crimes. They don't go as far as blaming Trump for it, but he obviously has provided fuel for the hate fire. My guess would be that those counties he hit were some of the hardest hit with data-driven trolling by the Saudis/Russians/Trump paid trolls pushing the hate filled propaganda.

We wouldn't have known about Trump's lawyer running around with Russian money to spread Russian lies against Trump's political rivals if it didn't happen.

A lot of information came out that Trump was trying to hide. So like it or not, it did help us have a lot more information about Trump's wiping his ass with our laws when we make our choice in the fall.
