Chemist77 Pic Journal

Looking good man, removed a few more leaves than I would have done but some of them look really good. As for your pm questions, let me answer that with a few examples.

This one looks great:

If I had plants that all looked like that I'd probably bend the main stem (90 degrees) or top it, but in addition to keeping those branches/bud sites at a similar level, you want to keep your plants at a similar height too so it depends on how tall or small it is compared to the rest. But right now that plant is already good for 7 or 8 bud sites besides the main cola.

This one looks pretty bad (structure-wise)

It's too stretchy/lanky.

This one looks ok:

But, you shaved too much of the legs, especially that branch on the right. If all your plants looked like that and you'd switch to flower, you'd probably have a pretty decent run though.

If they we're all like that Lemon Kush, or even like this one:

and switch to flowering, you get better results than with 30x that Skunk#1 or that mighty grape plant.

You got 30 plants on 6x4, a sea of green, which is doable, but you only need like 60 colas to fill the space, that's only two main branches per plant. 18 plants with 4 main branches/colas each would work better. I'm not suggesting you trim them all down to 2 branches now.

Have you every noticed @thump easy's breeding journal thread? Some good examples there.

Not suggesting you do this now, just per example:

That would leave 5 or 6 branches. That long branch on the left of the main stem, starting below the cut, you could then pinch and bend to keep it down, or hang a weight on it, or go full LST and tie it down. That bottom branch at he right I would, in that scenario, cut off. Not with the idea it's useless or gets no light or whatever, simply to pick a number of bud sites per plant, using the best branches that will end up at a similar height.

An alternative, which I do suggest you do but only if it's taller than the rest, and that's pinching the main stem on the same place where I would top it or one node higher, as in pinch it between your thumb and finger till it softens a little, then bend it 90 degrees. It'll look bad 12-24 hours but they can handle it and recover very nicely. Not the best example cause this plant is stressed but I do it frequently. The pinching before the bending helps prevent the stem from snapping.

For perhaps a better idea of how plant branches become bud sites check out the mainlining thread. It's a bit too extreme for me but it shows nicely what we're talking about. Controlling the number of colas. UncleBen's topping thread has plenty of examples too.

ya fim an top for shure this shit gets wild fast realy fast...also the spaceing is important but looking great!!!

thanks bro, i like the way u explained it, ill try for all to look more like that lemon kush u pointed out for next run, that lemon kush had 2 weeks less veg time than the skunk, critical mass, mighty grape and mellon gums..they all had a month of veg wile the lemon kush only had 2 weeks, and the lady purple and ultimate purple, so small as u can see only had a week veg, but i wanted to see how they go as i just found the moms to be female.. should i trim off the lower branches on any of the larger plants or just give them a week then trim lower stuff that will be popcorn? i trimmed to many leaves because my veg area was packed and i was trying to get more light to the tops on plants around them..

just thought id let u guys know on that last run, each strain, row ended up around a qp dried weight. so i ended up with a lb +a qp..this run should produce better, more plants and alot more tops thanks to topping and a little lst.. also to avoid yellowing early, dr.who recomended feeding w/ grow nutrients till week 3..thinking thats a little much so im giving them 1 week grow nutes,2nd week 80%bloom, 20%grow, and week 3 on 100%bloom nutrients.. at first sign of yellowing ill add a little grow if needed but only up to week 6.. i was told yellowing at the top is a sign of to much p..any body know if thats true??

week 2,, flower...put a second drain on pipes, running smooth, roots getting big..pipes gat a steady flow about an inch and a half deep of water, each of the 6 tubes gets about 100 gallonns per hour as i have a 600 gph pump w a 6 ft max and its only going up 2 feet. love this new water pump..

sorry, didnt put up pics for week 3 flower, but ill put up pics next week for week 4..the lemon kush plants have stretched to weell above all others and i had to bend the tops of 3 of the lemon kush tops..very large space between nodes on lemon kush, wile all others are nice tight nodes...those northern lights#5 pics are 2 plants at 2 months old,,notice how small they are, normally i can clone a plant at 1 month old..they must be bad genetics but they were 15 bucks a seed so im growing them till i can clone and sex them..i hope the clones will grow faster than the plants? it took a month just to get first true leaves on them, now they are almost 2 and 1/2 months old and just big enough to get 1 or 2 clones off each...must have been bad seeds!! anyways ill put up week 4 of bloom pics on wednesday feb 12 i think..
