row 1 northern lights, row 2 seedsmans skunk1, row 3 sensi's skunk 1,row4 2 front critical mass back 3 sensi skunk1, row5 critical mass, row 6 nl.
5 buckets on left, 2 back buckets are bcbd blueberry 6 weeks in, front 3 buckets on left are female seeds lemon kush ready to pull at 60 days..ill pull those lemon kush today and put the blue berrys up front and put 3 new plants in buckets in back..i crossed 1 bud of the lemon kush w/ a male northern lights 5 from bcsc, ill get around 20-30 seeds..i hope the crossed seeds will produce a plant with less height than the lemon kush but retain the lemon smell and bud size....

What are your thoughts on the Skunk #1's? I'm currently running Sensi Skunk #1. How does Seedsman's compare?

good question!!!

seedsmans skunk 1 is true breeding, sensi's skunk is f1, the seedsmans takes a few days longer to finish, but as far as smell, taste, yield the two are almost identicle..i use the seedsman skunk for breeding, and the sensi skunk is on its 2nd backcross right now, i planted 10 sensi skunk 1's kept best male and female and the ones u see are backcrossed twice, the best one will be backcrossed again to stabilize for breeding purposes..personally i like the sensi skunk1 better as it finishes in 50 days wile the seedsman takes56-60 days, once the sensi is stabilized ill cross the two...like i said tho, at finish they are identicle...

how many seeds did u plant? and were they same or dif? i planted all 10 wen i got them 8 females 2 males, out of the 2 males one has better closer nodes, smell, and height,,,smell being the biggest dif. the 8 females were very similar exept for 2 being very different in every way, so out of the 6 i kept the fastes finish, biggest yielding, best smell and tasting, and of corse close nodes, and structure and leaves that were wider.. crossed w the male and planted 30 seeds keeping the best female again, now crossed a second time and they are almost identicle already at bx2

i also bought feminized super skunk, and shiva skunk, i only planted 1 of the supers and it was terrible...from now on i will only buy reg seeds, i feel i get a better choice of phenios at a better price..unfortunatly ive already bought hundreds of fem seeds..i plan to plant the other 4 fem supers soon in hopes 1 will be that real skunk smell or at least what sensi says their super should be...i also use female spray on my best females to create more so i dont lose that phenio..ive actually crossed a few femles,,but even backcrossing does not stabilize them,,but the seeds are all females..so i stick to just getting s1's now,,good for preserving my best fems..

In my 1st experiment I had two Sensi Skunk #1 Feminized and I really liked how they performed under 12/12 from seed. They were not in the top tier as far as yield, but still above average and they had some important traits I'm looking for such as easy trimming and most of the yield being represented in the top cola.

In my current experiment, I'm running 84 of the Skunk #1's. It's early still...flowering just started but so far I'm very pleased. Very consistent height which is also a critical trait I'm looking for.

I'm soon going to be in a position where I need to start creating my own seeds. In your opinion, does Skunk #1 make a great starting point? I don't feel all that comfortable taking 2 designer strains and making random crosses. I'd rather start with old school stuff as my base.

if they were fems, what did u use to get the 84 seeds? were the 2 fems identicle?

recently i like starting with land race strains, afghani, columbian, hawiian, etc and crossing, also u can buy alot of strains that are already stabilized for u,,such as serious seeds and th seeds bubble gum, both are stabilized but different, serious is sativa dom, th is indica dom,, i have both and look forward to crossing...by urself some stabilized hybrids or land race strains,,,u can go right to crossing and getting f1's,,no backcrossing needed as they will be uniform from the start, then u choose ur favorite f1's to stabilize..id say skunk is a good starter i like old school genes too.. tell me how the 84 fems do and if they aprear to be uniform or if they are different plant to plant..
