I am going to try to get a nice long shit of both plants, because the one with molasses is much frostier on all of the sites.

OK - i think i have this figured out. The people who use molasses swear it gives them a better buzz and sweeter taste. The people who don't use molasses think it is kind of BS and would need a double-blind taste test for proof.

Kind of like the folks who use Advanced Nutrients. When you spend $600 bucks on nutes -- you probably are willing to defend them. Or if you spend that much on a dual-spectrum light - you feel the need to defend your purchase (i plead guilty to that last one)!

I'm guessing like most things -- the truth is somewhere in between.

I guess it's that time again. Here are a couple pics.

There are two pics of each bud. I used two because I am a terrible photographer and wanted to offer as many as possible. Discuss.

Sorry guys, I stand by what I see and I dont see a difference between the two. I can see the importance of using a little molasses to help your soil out, but I really dont see how it directly improves the buds and could possibly make them better.

quick post of close ups.

right (water)

EDIT: Due to excessive consumption of alcohol, I mislabeled which one was fed molasses. I kept the pics straight, but for some reason I said that the one on the right was molasses, and the left was plain water. I have corrected the mis-labeling now; and apologize for any confusion. I will try to update tonight (1/2/08) if I can get a few good shots right before lights on.

Now, I have been trying not to sway anyone too much through this, but I certainly think the left one is way ahead. The pics give you a little bit of an idea, but in person it is extremely noticeable. When walk (crawl actually) into the room, I can see immediately that the left one is much more frosted. This grow isn't over, though; so I am not jumping to any conclusions.

edit: and I forgot to add, it is day 37 in flower.

Time for another update. This is day ~43. I intend to harvest next Sunday. I gave them their last nutes the night before last; and gave them a little bit of burn. Anyway, here are a couple pics.

Here is the molasses eater:

As you can see, but is much more drastic in person, the molasses plant is winning by quite a bit. The buds seem larger, they seem to have
a higher concentration of trichomes, and seem to be all-around more healthy plants. Looking back, there are a lot of flaws in my experiment, and it is not entirely conclusive. I think that if I had been using a lot more nutes (like the whole AN line, for example), it may not have made as much of a difference. However, with my use of only Fox Farm Tiger Bloom and guano tea, molasses definitely worked wonders. I will use it forever. Thank you for reading, everyone; and I hope this has been of any help to anyone. I think this is pretty much done now, and I am not going to really call it one way or the other. The only thing I will say is this: You will always find a bottle of molasses in or around my grow room.

Thanks, man. Today is day 43 of flower. I think they are going pretty well on schedule. Arjan says in the YouTube video to go for 7 weeks, and I plan to harvest next Sunday, on day 50. I want to get a couple of good waterings in there before I cut them down, as I burned them a little bit on their last feeding. Thanks for checking it out!
