A couple of new pics. Both close-ups. enjoy.

right (no molasses)

Now, I have been trying not to sway anyone too much through this, but I certainly think the left one is way ahead. The pics give you a little bit of an idea, but in person it is extremely noticeable. When walk (crawl actually) into the room, I can see immediately that the left one is much more frosted. This grow isn't over, though; so I am not jumping to any conclusions.

edit: and I forgot to add, it is day 37 in flower.
am i the only one who doesn't see any difference?

i sincerely doubt that, since he mixed up the pictures and some of you still said you noticed a big difference. I propose he puts out two pictures unlabeled and we see if we can tell which is which.

I have a molasses bud hardener but i thought it is only used in last 2 weeks of flower not counting last week of just water. Its Humbolt countys gravity. Is this much different than just molasses.

The strain is Greenhouse Seed co. Great White Shark. I used molasses every other watering, alternating it with waterings of Fox Farm Tiger Bloom mixed with Guano Tea.

I never mixed up pictures, I only mixed up which one was fed which thing. I labeled which one (right and left) correctly, but I didn't label which one was getting molasses. I edited the post before anyone responded, and anyone that has followed the whole thread could have seen the error.

As far as the difference, I don't think the pictures are really doing it justice. I included pics with no flash this time; as the flash makes all of the buds look as if they are frosty and white. In person, the one with molasses looks much frostier, and even looks as if it is further in the flowering cycle than the other.

The other big difference can only be felt. When I wrap my fingers around buds to feel how they are filling out, there is no comparison. The girl with molasses has big fat colas, whereas the other has little buds on a stick. The difference is truly profound, and I think the comparitive yields will be quite varied. I will be more than happy to furnish those numbers when they come.

As far as the anonymous pictures, I would be more than happy to do that. I will probably have one or two more sessions of photography before I shop it all down next weekend. I will give you some anonymous pics. I think you will be able to tell the difference.

Thank you, everyone, for the interest. I really wanted this to shed a little light on a practice that is quite controversial among growers. As of right now, I think the molasses naysayers are wrong.

excellent work ST.....I understand what you mean about the vagueries of photos and lighting.....it is often very difficult to get a true presentation of what you see with your eyes. I think you've done a wonderful job, mucho kudos and hats off to ya!

I have been using mollasses every grow and I know what you mean by touch. Not only do they feel bigger but also leave more of a sticky resin on your fingers when you touch the buds. I also noticed a nice smoothe almost fruity flavor in the end result. great post ........

does anyone know if adding molasses is any different than adding any other simple-carb-heavy blooming nute?
