Thought I'd throw up a pic of the alien kush I'm flowering. These been under a 600 MH for the first 6 days of 12/12. Then I switched her out to a 1000 hps 2000k.
I flipped her on 1-11-16. Total 12 days now and she is already in flower, but i think she started to crown a few days ago. I'm going to start week 1 tomorrow on monday.
She's been building flower sites and hasn't much stretched without adding more growth. Sorry for the HPS pics, i didn't catch lights on in time for a more clear color balance. You get the idea tho-

The last pic is a good reference. Crowning is when the first pistols pop out from the terminal, this resembles a crown, and tells us the plant is in flower mode.

Thanks, she is a beauty. I have focused on alot of alien genitics and this one is my diamond in the ruff. Every grower has one plant that is their top girl, this one's mine. She will continue to awww as she develops. She likes pushing resin in the 3rd week, so she is very very resinous. Almost too gooey honestly, but she makes a ton of hash and I love to make edibles using coconut oil.

Ah ok, thanks! Good I asked, I was beginning to overthink that haha ;)

Never count the first 14 days of 12/12. This is a transition phase and serves the purpose of accumulate flowering hormones. Once the flower set appears, then it's ok to start the bloom calendar.
Cannabis actually has 4 different bloom phases. You must cater to each-

As you can see with mine, I've experienced very minimal stretch, and flower set is nicely stacking. I've accomplished this mainly by keeping the MH on her for 1 week of the 2 week preflower. On the 2nd week of preflower, then put the HPS on her to encourage flowers.
The end result is going to be solid, thick and dense colas.

My flower times all vary depending on phenotypes, but 8 - 11 is common, and I rarely go past 13 and only for heavy leaning sativas. I average 10 weeks.
