the mayan 2012 theory is that a supermassive blackhole(they didn't know that it was a blackhole, they just knew something was out there), Earth, and the Sun line up, causing the magnetic poles to switch, which causes the core of the Earth to spin very, very fast. Mad eruptions, no more global warming if this is true...mad global freezing, in fact.

By the way....do you really trust NASA?

December 21st, 2012 is the exact date of the "end" of the Mayan Calender. That being, of course the Winter Solstice

The Mayan calendar does not really "end" in 2012, but rather, all the cycles turn over and start again, vibrating to a new era. It is as if humanity and the Earth will graduate in the eyes of the Father Sun and Grandmother Milky Way.

READ YOUR MAYAN HISTORY! :blsmoke:

Dont you think if it were 5 times the size of the sun and it is supposed to do damage in about 4 years we could see the planet by now? Or is it just going to appear all of a sudden?

^^ I agree. Also, planets usually aren't bigger than stars. Even in solar systems with their smallest planet being the size of Jupiter.

i dunno man...and my mistake not 5 times the size of the sun....5 times the size of earth...
Either way, its irrellevent, shouldn't we be able to see it? Come on, 4 years is not that long when space travel uses light years for the most part? I am not sure how long it takes to get to Jupiter from Earth, but its longer than 4 years(I think) and we can see Jupiter with the naked eye. For that matter, I have seen Saturn which is even further away and smaller than Jupiter without a telescope.

December 21, 2012 is the exact date, or dec. 23, 2012 by other people, is supposed to be the end of the earth as we know it. That is the exact end of the mayan calendar, which is at the winter solstice of 2012. Other ancient people predicted that after that date the world would be in eternal peace. Others think that that date will be judgement day. I believe that something big will happen in 2012, im not sure what though.
