Down To Earth makes neem seed meal, it can easily be ordered offline. It's also a nitrification inhibitor and prolongs the availability of nitrogen in the soil. I started using it in my new rounds. I'm kicking myself for not using it sooner. It's also brings calcium, magnesium, sulfur, manganese, and others to the table.

I should let you know brotha, Dte neem seed meal is one of the lowest quality neem meals you can get. Ahimsa is much better quality, while not available locally it's a much cleaner, stronger product.

A little info-

DTE is in contract with Dyna Gro to use the leftover neem seed after the oil has been processed out through chemical refinement and turns it into 'neem seed MEAL'.. Dyna Gro neem oil Azidiractin ppms top out around 1200 whereas Ahimsa's oil tops out at around 3200-3600 ppms of Azidiractin. This is because Dyna Gro gets their neem directly from China, which = Big NoNo in organic world..Ahimsa operates directly in the US but is based in India, because of certain international treaties dating back to the 40s, this product (Ahimsa) can't be put on the shelves but can be bought from the distrubutor and a select few vendors.

And trust me, theirs a huge difference in discernable quality with no question. Ahimsa is hands down easily 5 times as potent as Dte from my results. I mean, look at the Azidiractin ppm difference, three times as much! Imagine the difference in mineral and secondary benefit. Angry Lion Power!

I can't find any neem local...where is the best place to buy it...I have 2 50 lb bags of kelp and alfalfa meal otw
Bro, read my post above and go with Ahimsa Neem. Cleanest, Strongest, best quality neem you can get. You can also go with Karanja as well, same thing as neem with one molecule difference.. I use the Karanja oil as it smells a lot better and is easier to emulsify

Thanks for the info! The dte stuff has been treating me pretty well, but if there's some better quality stuff out there I'm all about it.

Do you have an analysis of your neem meal? I just got a fresh bag and it came with this analysis and was wondering how they compared.
IMG_3918.JPG
You can see why it's becoming so popular, it's basically got everything you need covered, maybe not in the full required quantities, but with a couple of complimentary amendments you're good to go with it.

I'm speaking strictly in terms of quality. Like i said, Dyna Gro not only gets their illegitimately sourced neem seed from China (dumb) but also puts their neem seed through chemical refinement therefore altering the product and defacing its mineral value. Bottom line, I wouldn't trust a Hydro company with my most expensive and precious ingredient, now would I? Lol

Ahimsa is cold pressed and comes out GOLD, BABY. The neem is imported directly from India where the trees are treated like Royalty. Always organic, never tampered with.

Not to mention, the customer service at Ahimsa is outstanding. Look into neemresource.com brotha, you'll never look back.
Already placed my order! :)

I use 1/4 cup per cubic foot (or about every 7 gallons, mixed into my soil. You can top dress. The nitrogen is slow release and is not water soluble. If you put it in tea you will not get the nitrogen benefits.

-how much neem would I need to use?
1/2 cup per cu ft

-how quickly can it become available in the soil?
Immediately ready

-Can it be top dressed?
Yes, this is the best way to use it after mixing it into your soil. I top dress 1 TBS per 15 gallon container when I need to

-or made with teas or anything..
I wouldn't suggest making teas at all, you'll get ultimate benefit from top dressing especially with neem, that and it's stinky.

-I figured mostly in compost
This is the best way to incorporate neem, put a 1/2 cup of neem per 1 cu ft of compost and top dress that.

-I've heard a lot about neem cake... Wtf is that..

Neem cake is a term used by companies after the seed has been ground down.

Aka

You're in Europe right?

.No, sadly their is no data/analysis sheet on Ahimsa's products but being they come directly from India I can trust their the utmost quality.

Yea I've only been using it a little while but I quickly started using it in all the gardens. Good results so far, it def alters the room smell a little. I'm interested to see if it plays a role in bud taste.

Lol, neem is systemic. But I promise it won't 'alter the taste' of your buds in any way. When I was using 10 gals id top dress with neem up until the last two weeks and my buds definitely didn't Taste any different.

@Rasta Roy

I was wrong about Dyna gro and Dte, don't have a contract. BUT both do get their neem from China which is still going to be bad quality no matter what.

Yeah I'm in uk and it's from a website called The Natural Gardener, these are the links for the stuff I get from them http://www.thenaturalgardener.co.uk/neem_natural_fertilizer.php
http://www.thenaturalgardener.co.uk/seaweed_granules.php

It's definitely the best stuff available here, I also use this site for predators and nematode

So it really doesn't need to cook into your soil if it's made available so fast correct.....and just for the sake of it, incase I can't get any ordered before I mix my 50 gal and 100 gal pots up hoe much and how often should I top dress...when the soil hasn't been amended with it....I plan on it but in case I can't get it in time

I haven't cooked it any soil (at least that I've used yet). It works with just top dressing. I don't know if I'd keep applying it in flower... @MistaRasta would know better. I imagine top dressing once every one or two months would be sufficient. Anyone with more experience with it wanna chime in? Lol
