@robincnn how much more does the Slate heat sinks dissipate heat vs the Aluminum sheet? Have you guys measure this yet just curious?
Yes Steve and I have done several tests with plates.
Depends on heatsink/plate type, size, sheet thickness and AL grade
Slate 1 does not offer much advantage. Just a different grade of aluminum.
Slate 2 has lot more surface area than a sheet and offers better cooling than plate

hey robin have you done any PAR readings with and without the acrylic? it has excellent transmittance on axis but im wondering how it works with such a spread out light source?

looking at the datasheet for lm561:

then the transmittance graph for acrylic:

it looks like about 25% of the light is cast off at above 50 degrees where it would start to reflect off the acrylic. so this would bounce around between the acrylic and the white board

I'd guess the losses might be closer to 10% than the theoretical 8%
