Einstein's quote has a tendency to be misapplied.
But I believe the finer detail can be garnered through considering one of your examples more closely.
If one were to just tune their guitar everyday, would they get better at playing VanHalen's Mean Streets Intro ?
No...that is where the insanity comes in to play. It comes down to how one responds and changes their approach to the "information barriers" which breaks the cycle of insanity.
In the case of the above, after tuning, one has to find the right notes and palm mutes. Once found, their rhythm must be sussed out, etc etc.

Progress...

precisely, if you keep the same you end the same..if you learn from the mistake and make adjustments (along the way) that still does not take away from the ultimate goal: successful playing of "mean streets intro"..tying your shoes etc. it's the lack of ability to change/be flexible that continues you onto the path of madness..expecting different outcome by doing EXACTLY the same.

think mouse/maze/cheese.

correct. through the use of adjustment and flexibility. not by doing the exact same way over and over.

When you learn to do things you do them over and over in the exact same way. As time goes on your movements become more fluid. If you practice playing mean streets but keep throwing in licks from Aqualung you're never going to get it right. You need to do it exactly the same way, over and over and over again.

yet you change where your fingers are located and how they interact during the repetitive motion. how to make the loop with your left and hold..to take the right lace and wrap around "just so" that when you pull them together they make the knot.

again the objective is the same: to tie a shoe

method: variable to reach objective.

It's a stupid quote that is way over used. It rarely refers to the subject at hand and very few people are actually "insane" because they repeat things. It is not a true reflection of reality.

depends.

OCD can be debilitating if you don't take meds and is related to other disorders.

That's not quite Maddow, but close.
So pureed pasta and hummus, snooted up the poop chute with an icing anointment utensil isn't torture.

In defining torture he states it is, in his mind, "what 19 guys armed with airline tickets...and uh... boxcutters did to 3000 Americans on 911".

I bet that's torture to him since he's culpable.

In refining his definition later, his empirical research consists of what 3 POWs from Vietnam told him re: their opinions of waterboarding as torture.

Baghdadi was in custody and was let go...Cheney has a hard-on for him. He's still hunting down the guys who did 911.
So it wasn't Osama? Hmmmmmm... Dick has to juggle a lot of lies, doesn't he.

A clip with McCain talking about torture, taken in a context to make him sound like he's not a fan of it, not that he is.

And then Dick winds back to a Vietnam reference about waterboarding not being torture, mentioning this guy "Bud Day", again...
Bud Day... Bidet? Waterboarding?

A finale with Dick having to deal with his own words from 20 years ago, detailing his vision of Iraq in lieu of intervention. Oh sweet irony...

I will watch this again. 2 thumbs up (Dick's "not torture" feeding cavity).
Prison would be the least punishment...but he'd just pull a Ken Lay and fuck off to South America.
The guy is more teflon than the Mafia.
The Hague's unwillingness to prosecute Cheney and Bush as war criminals shows that it is as much of a sham as America's stance on foreign policy while supporting Israel.

I think most people see a difference between "interrogation" and pulling people's fingernails out one by one with a pliers.
and yet there are no credible allegations that the interrogators pulled anybody's fingernails, not even with pliers.

the "torture" is primarily psychological pressure, defilement of their incredibly easy to offend bullshit religion, and sleep deprivation.

no car batteries hoked up to genitals, no blades, no bamboo shoots, no forcing the detainees to watch as their compatriots are ritually murdered, no rapes, no fire ants, they dont even force the detainees to listen to nikki minaj records.

these assclowns were tough enough to plant bombs in retarded kids' backpacks, and set up hijackings of airliners but they are too delicate to receive unkind treatment and shitty food?

feigned outrage is feigned.
