Once on a cruise I decided to walk the decks very late at night. I was all alone and went to the back of the ship and I saw that the propeller stirred up the water and the path the ship had taken was glowing it was stunning.

Then I heard plop, plop, plop and Holland America was dropping the trash off the back of the boat. Ruined the whole moment.
I was on a cruise a few years back to the Bahamas and I looked over the rail and saw some glowing plankton in the water.

I just tried looking up sex offenders in the middle of the central valley. There are many, because both major metro areas dump'em there. I would not want to head a scout troop (either flavor) in Turlock. cncn

[h=1]Mom reunited with missing child 8 years later[/h]
HOUSTON (AP) -- Eight years after her baby boy disappeared, Auboni Champion-Morin is looking forward to embracing the child authorities believe is her son.
"I want to tell him that I love him," Champion-Morin, said Thursday, her voice cracking and wiping away tears, after an emergency court hearing gave the state at least temporary custody of previously missing Miguel Morin. "It's frustrating. I'm so tired of waiting."
WATCH AUBONI CHAMPION-MORIN RECALL HOW HER SON WAS KIDNAPPED

Experts say the child also may experience frustration, though for entirely different reasons. Miguel will be meeting a mother and father who are complete strangers to him, and the woman he has known as is mother is now accused of kidnapping him when he was 8 months old.

CLINTONVILLE WISCONSIN (WAOW) -- "I have never heard anything like it in my life. I thought it was going to suck us in!" After a loud boom, Margaret DeGroot was wide awake.

"I went outside and the neighbor guy came out and then the other guy and all of sudden we heard another boom," DeGroot explains. "The ground shook and we all said, 'did you feel that?' The whole ground shook underneath our feet." But, city officials can't explain why that happened.

"We have spoken to military personnel, meteorologists, geologists, seeing if there was any seismic activity. There was not," City Administrator Lisa Kuss said.

Investigators have been patrolling the streets since 2 a.m. Monday morning, trying to determine what caused the ground to shake, and sounds of explosions to fill the air.

The Clintonville Police Department reports more than 150 phone calls came in over night, all reporting the same activity.

"All of a sudden they hear a popping noise and a booming underground and then boom boom boom and the earth rattled," Kuss said. Rattling so violent, DeGroot thought about leaving town.

"I said, should I wake up my family and put them in the van and just drive away?" DeGroot says.

But officials say residents aren't in any danger. And they don't know if they will ever figure out what happened. "Although we can't tell you what it is. We are continuing to monitor the situation," Kuss explains.

Officials say they have consulted with geologists from UW-Madison to try to monitor any further activity.

But, it's a situation that DeGroot says she will never forget. "I've lived all over," DeGroot says. "I have never felt something like I did this morning, nothing."

Carne, you are starting to freak me out. Do you think it has anything to do with the slight shift in the magnet north? I doubt it.

I have a bizarre story my brother reminded me of.

I ran a cleaning company and I used to take my 70 pound Black Lab with me to do quality control checks in the middle of the night. There was one building that gave me the creeps, it was a small stamping plant. My hair would stand on end, chills, uncomfortable and my dog didn't like it there either.

Slowly, things began to happen. Doors would slowly close- explainable. Lights would go off-explainable. Then something must have happened to the staff, adult full grown men started to refuse to go into the shop alone. No one would talk about it.

Then one night I went to unlock the door on the empty, dark building. I got the key half way turned and it forcibly went back to the locked position. When I finally got it unlocked I started to turn the knob and it stuck and then suddenly there was no tension and it opened right up. But, my dog's hair went straight up all the way to his tail. I stepped in and turned on all the lights at the electrical panel, didn't see anything. My dog didn't want to come in but he did.

Now I have to tell you that all the power to the presses were turned off. They never chalked the presses don't know why they just didn't. Anyway, I'm in the front office of the building with my dog checking the work of my employees. All of a sudden two presses in the back made 2 cycles each. First, one machine way in the back. BOOM, cycling noise and then BOOM, cycling noise; then nothing. I stepped into the shop to see what was going on, then one in the front by the exit door about 20 feet away from me cycled BOOM, cycling noise, BOOM.

My dog stood looking at the shop foreman's office growling low deep in his throat. Head down, tail down. We left immediately. The next day I gave them the keys and I never went back. I don't know what was happening in that building but it was more than anyone could handle. The people working during the day said they never had issues.

Now if the presses had cycled once maybe it was finishing cycle belatedly which could be explained or weight making it drop. But two full cycles-no power. I know it had no power because I checked the panel on the way out, it was the next panel over for the electrical panel for the front office.

Strange things do happen at night.

I don't really believe in anything like that, but it would have freaked me out. I still would have investigated tho.

My dog acted that way at a closed office building once, but they hunted big game and had stuffed everything inside. I'm pretty sure she just smelled big cats and cape buffalo and whatnot.
