i was hospitalized for a bit until my first -noticeable- kidney stone flushed out without much incident. although it was somewhat painful leading up to it. maybe if ya drink lots of water n beer u cld pass that puppy, or they'll use electrolysis or sumthin to break it up first. feel better.. sounds like ya have the rightsitter. Garden looks good!

when u go to tie your tallest plants, consider pulling the breakaway colas to the opposite side of the container, across the center. imagine what crossing your arms in front of u wld look like. this method may provide a slightly smaller overall footprint, rather than tying the tallest tops to the outside of container.

Day 23 of 20/4

I transplanted the last Lemon Kush and Doctor into coco coir today. I have decided to just put all the random bagseeds and 2 reg afghans into the corner of the flower tent. Im not sure what will happen to them but I wanna focus on my 8 fem seeds and give them proper space and light. I plan on toping them in another week. I had a little burning from the potting soil i used i believe. I have only watered them so far. The Doctor that i thought had got sprayed with lights on is still growing light and dark green pattern. Im not sure why? deficiency?

"Plants bearing such variegation are chimeras, with more than one type of genetic makeup in their tissues. A lack of chlorophyll producing tissue in some tissues causes variegation with white or yellow coloured zones on the leaf, contrasting with the usual green tissue. It is due to some of the plant’s meristematic tissue losing the ability to produce chloroplasts, so that the tissue it produces is no longer green.

In a common type of such variegation, the part of the meristem that produces epidermal tissue loses the ability to produce chloroplasts. The margins of leaves may be composed only of cells derived from this merismatic tissue. Hence, this marginal tissue is white or yellow, rather than green. There are several other types of such variegation, depending on the tissues that have been affected, and their relationship to each other. Variegation may be consistent and symmetric in appearance throughout the whole plant, or it may be quite random in location. In some plants, entire branches or stems including the leaves may be variegated. The variegation in some forms is unstable. The extent and nature of the variegation can vary, and sometimes the plant will return to the green form. In others it is stable and does not change under normal conditions and temperature."

interesting it looks kinda cool the way it is but I hope its not a sensitive plant. I read a bit and mostly bad reviews for the genetics of Greenhouse seeds. I plan on ordering some Nirvana Blue Mystic, Aurora Indica, Dr Krippling incredible bulk, and G13 x Blueberry Headband for my next grow.

I have a plant that has some leaves pointing straight upwards. is this a problem? the plant looks very good, it is forming buds pretty nicely so far just noticed it was kinda weird.

The ladies are looking beautiful. They seemed to have stopped growing upwards. If so then it was a pretty lucky guess to flip when i did. They are putting on crystals and popping hairs from everywhere. I think I might trim a little from the very bottom. it has been hard to water and they are getting very little light at the bottom. What are your guys opinions on lollipopping or trimming the lower stuff. I dont plan on taking anything that is gonna make a bud. I would really like to pull enough from these to make it to the next harvest and not have to go elsewhere for my supply. I think i can do it.

Heres some bud pics :)

I think my plants may be asking for food. The bottom leaves are dying and turning pale yellow. is this normal?

that's fairly normal, i get it to some degree even when i feed.

you're a little late to trim the lower stuff this round, live and learn. it'll still be usable.

i try to model my plants after the nut and citrus growers of california.

bare bottoms, 4-6 main branches stripped to the light penetration level.

come summer...

Day 27 of 20/4

I did a little changing/upgrading my lights. its now one solid fixture with 11 - 23w cfl bulbs. much easier to adjust.
I topped all 8 plants, they were working on their 6th node. I decided to just ditch the 8 bagseeds I had sitting in the flower tent they had stretched and I really didnt have room for them. I didnt really plan for them all that well. Its okay though I wanna focus on these second 8 plants and make sure they are going good. I took the 2 afghans and transplanted them into bigger pots and putt them in the flower tent.
here are some pics

Day 68 and day 30 of 12/12

I fed the ladies today, jacks blossom booster, cal mag, and molasses. I also added a light sprinkle of dolomite lime to the topsoil before i watered. I also moved them around a little to get them all the most light. They are skunky as hell if you rub up against them.
I am getting excited but I have felt the patience come over me with this growing thing. I started out wanting to go as fast as possible but right now Im enjoying the journey that its been so far. I really enjoy growing and learning about plants. They took most of my night tonight to water arrange but It was a very peaceful relaxing evening. Its nice to start to feel like I have most things in line to do whats needed and do it properly.
I need to get a dehumidifier next I think I am gonna buy a 50 pint. It has been staying around 65% humidity in there. I have let the buckets dry out really good between watering. I have seen a couple fungus gnats the last few days. I am gonna spray some neem oil on the soil tonight before lights go out.

Here are some pics of the ladies

Day 71 - day 33 of 12/12
They are just getting more pungent smelling each day. I did a bit of supporting the plants by tying them to stakes. they are starting to get heavy. a few of the main colas are atleast 2 fingers wide now. I think I will reach my goal of 1 oz per plant as long as I keep them on track.
It seems like the soil is drying a bit quicker this time. It was taking 10 days I think it is only gonna be about 5-6 this time. I fed last time so I will just water this next time. 1 plant has a few leaves yellowing on top of one cola.

here are some pics

Day 31 of 20/4

The plants have all recovered from topping. they are looking good. today I topped the 1st of 2 plants I have from the same bagseed as my first grow. There is one lemon kush that is not doing so good. the new growth is starting to turn light yellow on it. I think it might just be the soil i started with is a little hot. Im a little bummed about the ghs doctor. it seems to be a little touchy and the one that is all different colors has some weird shape leaves. Im gonna have to train these pretty good considering that Im not expecting to have room in my flower tent for another 27-40 days. I might have to expand the veg room a little. some more persuading the wife

The ladies have been putting on weight. quite a few tops are getting so big im having to tie them to the stakes. I cant keep the door to the tent open or it fills up half the house with the sweet skunk smell. :weed: . I just love that fresh skunky smell. I am pleasantly surprised with how dank the buds are looking. im at 5 weeks and expecting to let it go 10 weeks. Its gonna be so worth the wait even though It seems like its taking forever. lol

my plants are starting to loose leaves from the bottom up. They turn yellow slowly over a few days then shrivel up and die. whats causing this? should I be worried?

wldnt be too concerned, unless entire plant has yellow hue. it's natural for the paint to shed some spent older leaves (the large lower ones). if the smell gets too bad, u can add a second filter for scrubbing air further.
