World Of Hempy

Harvested the remainder of the WW yesterday. Hanging to dry now.
Have spread opened both of the CC/BBGA's under the light now all bud sites are getting nice light. In reading up on the parents of this cross, Female Cotton Candy and Male Blackberry/Grape Ape, they all say 9 to 11 weeks of flower, I am at 8 weeks and one day. I plan on monitoring the trichomes on both plants and harvest the first one to show 10 percent plus amber. I expect to see that sometimes this weekend at 9 weeks. I will then let the other go toward the 10th week and evaluate the trichomes at that time for 25 to 35% amber.
I can tell exactly when the pH went south by where the most damage occurred on each cola. I have removed and large number of pH damage leaves. They both seem to have responded well to the multiple flushing I gave them and the change of nutes. I am using Heads modified Lucas formula. But I have raised the level of the ph to 6.2 going in but the rinsate is still coming out 5.5 and below, even with straight pH'ed rainwater. Tomorrow I will flood flush them again with 6.0 pH'ed water again until I get a reading of 5.8 to 6.0 coming from the rinsate. Hell I want to shut the water off to the first one at least three days before I chop her. They are still drinking a lot, they empty the reservoir in the bottom of my Hempy buckets in a day. That is between 6 and 7 cups/day depending on how dry the coir is when I water. They are getting fatter and fatter.
:weed:

The first 4 are CC/BBGA #3, this plant had the lesser of the damage cause by the out of control pH. Her pistils are still mostly white and plentiful, so much so they almost look slimy. Oh the are not slimy but very heavy in trichomes. The trichs are mostly clear.

Two pictures of CC/BBGA #5, she had the most damage from the pH problem. She has many more reddish pistils but still very large quantities of clear trichomes and no amber.

So I built this 4K watt room over the summer and this is the first time I have had 2 of the four lights flipped at the same time . featured here is Huckleberry kush & Blue Heron from Dynasty , SFV , Skywalker and Woodie . Growing in 2 gal Hempies with Maxsea and will boost with Kool Bloom.

Here's what's under the other two lights. My sour Hawaiian's just rooted and will go into 3 gallon bubblers for Veg until they will go in here for Flower . will be using Maxsea here too.

What is your guys' flush routine with your hempy buckets? I just had a successful run with 3 5 gallon buckets in a grow tent, but I didn't flush and the smoke is harsh and doesn't burn to a clean gray ash like my previous dirt grows. I take it the flush is a requirement when growing in hydro....

flushing is always a debate, but with hempy it's really not required.

Many folks will reduce or eliminate nutes for the last week or two, others will go full blast nutes until harvest day

Jon, IMHO, I believe it depends on the media and the type of nutes your using in you Hempy.
I have done Perlite grows using Lucas formula dry nutes, always checking the ppm and pH of the rinsate and the reading would fluctuate depending on how dry the buckets were. I did flush a few time during the grow mainly as a precaution in case of nute buildup, again I was using dry nutes. never really HAD to flush.
My last grow was in a 50/50 coir/perlite media. Being the novice that I am, I used the same dry nutes and rates that I used in the perlite, bad move. I had flushed them only once a few weeks prior to going 12/12 but not until mid flower did I check the ppm and pH of the rinsate and it was way out of order. Almost 1800 ppm and a 4.85 pH, when I would feed every other watering with a 950 to 1000 ppm and a 5.9 to 6.1 pH and water with ph rain water the other times. I immediately began flushing multiple times with ph'ed rain water. I change the nutes and began using the modified Lucas/Head formula for coir. Here is a pic of the pH damage that ensued, but did not see any nute burn. All I can figure is the nutes were locked out by the very low pH.

If you look at the leaves below the damaged area you can see they were only minorly damaged and the growth after the problem was "resolved" showed only minor damage. I know it affected my grow but not sure to what extent. I harvested that plant earlier this week and will harvest the last one sometime within the next two weeks. Will report here on the results.

My latest grow, sprouted 10/30, one out of five fem Afghan in a 70/30 Perlite/Coir 2 gallon Hempy, course Perlite just to the top of the drain hole, and the mix above that with a grow stone cover. I plan on allowing it to veg and train for another 8 to 12 days in the 2 gallon bucket. When my cabinet is available I will transplant into a 4 gallon square mayonnaise tub (9x9x13). After a few days I will remove some bottom growth, two nodes up, from the plant, scarify the trunk, apply rooting solution and bury, with the mix, to within approx. 4 inches from the top of the tub. I will put two inches straight coir on the top of the mix and one inch of grow stones to hold the media in place and prevent light to the surface. I have found that in covering the mix with the grow stones that the upper level of the mix holds moisture better and allows for more roots, and the more roots the better.
From that point I will veg another two to three weeks before going 12/12. I have never grown this strain before so have been researching grow methods but have not found much yet. Any suggestions would be GR8!
Here are her pics, please note the leaf edges, turning a little pale. Any thoughts? Have been using 6 ml of Flora Micro and 9 ml of Flora Bloom + one tsp Epson per gallon every other watering, around 700 ppm and 6.9 pH. Been watering with pH'ed rain water only the past few days just in case.

Did not wait, I went ahead today and transplanted the Afghan. I know that the C5 thats in the cabinet now is going to take at minimum 7 days so I wanted to get the transplant done so it has some time to recover before I move it into the cabinet and change the lighting.

She is looking sexy in her new digs!

I've been watching this thread for a while and I must congratulate you guys on your plants!

I figured I would add my own to the mix. There's a link to my grow journal in my signature. I'm growing 9 white widow's in 5 gallon hempy buckets under a 1kw light. They just got switched to flower a couple days ago.

Clone in rock wool transplanted into 100% perlite today is day 2 after the transplant and shes not doing well, I have been ph testing my water, is she over watered or is it transplant shock, shes been under 24/7.

What was your ph when you fed her, did you feed her with just plain water or nutes. Also based on your pic the condition of her doesn't look good before you transplanted her. How long were the roots when you transpalnted her? Did it look as long as this. I don't know if you can recover her back. That's just my 2 cents.....good luck though.

yikes man droopy leaves and that color on the leaves kinda looks like some pythium may have gotten on the roots. Don't uproot it and check lol

The roots were all bundeled up in the rockwool with a few nice ones hanging out the bottom, am I supposed to pull them out of it first? ph is right on 6, using very watered down nutes maybe 1/4 of the maximum strength.

That's way too much plant for a rockwool cube. I'm guessing (correct me if I'm wrong) that it spent too long in the cube and the roots were pruned by the light. If enough of this occurs the roots will never recover.

Maybe remove the lower nodes branches and leaves, scrape the stalk and apply some rooting hormone, then burry deep into a solo cup of potting soil. Best of luck.

Well I finally Journaled a grow for the first time. And it looks like a journal, because I started it in the 5th wk of flower. Here's a few recent photos. Also another 1st for me this grow, I fired up the 1k hps.

off the top of my head I think it's 20 in a 4 x 11 trough. I usually run 6 rows 3 deep but I think I crammed a couple more in there.. It's Dynasty's Huckle berry .

Harvest is complete!

Three plants, just under 7 zips.
I know the pH problems, which I created myself, caused a reduction in total weight. WW starting 4th week of cure, C5 2nd week of cure and C3 has just started the cure.
Have tasted each, WW harvested @ 7 weeks is a two bowl uppy high with wonderful med properties, I think I could have gone another week there, C5 that I now know I harvested too early @ 9 weeks is a good buzz but not what it's sister C3 is, she will probably end up as butter. C3 is a two bowl very clear working type high, the pain and spasm relief I am finding will only increase as this plant ages. Three bowls of C3 and you start to get too relaxed to work, so you sit down listen to music and accept the nap your about to take, LOL.
