What the hello, why not...

Are we talking outdoor or indoor?
Bag soil is usually deficient in silica. It makes a big difference.
I pH my water to match the rainwater. I saw the plants pray after a rain and I wondered why. I collected some rainwater and the pH was 5.7. I use that pH now.
Are the plants having issues all the same strain?

you know I was thinking about it, the two main differences between the new space fail and the old space success with the led is too many hot days and these are imported clones instead of seed plants.

I’ll try ph’ing a lil bit lower and bump up silica amendment. I’ll probably avoid flowering the hot months if I don’t invest in an air conditioning unit. My wife has a serious issue with electricity use during the summer when they like to charge double.

Mo, you make a fantastic foil brother! Thanks for marching me down the line and helping me look at this rationally! You also gave me a really out-of-the-box idea for pumping up the humidity in there somethings telling me that this is a sticking point.

I measured surface temps from cooler inlet to room inlet, I’m loosing 4 degrees to ambient room conditioning. Moisture too, I used to see 30% in the tent when everything was transpiring correctly. I kind of took it for the confined space, but I think there might be something to the idea that the inlet is not directly connected to the humidity anymore. There is loss between the evaporator pad and intake now.

Brainstorming!
It is funny how you can get so focused on one part that you forget the other parts.
The worst was when I was pHing my water and everything started to get funky.
My pen needed calibrating!
Having an indoor grow was worse than having an infant. Couldn't go anywhere unless it was quick.
Every time I ignored my grow, something bad happened.

I just love making seeds au natural.

Yeah outside it really is a lot less complicated you just sort of assume certain truths about nature. Hahahaha
Like years with heavy caterpillars lol

Caterpillars only eat a few seeds. When I grow for flower I spray the whole yard monthly with strong BT. I am pretty sure it kills my beneficials (mantids and worms). I have sprayed it in flower and it made all of my bounty smell like new vinyl pool toys.

Most nasty pesticides are made from vinyl. Not sure whether the BT was really BT or something else. How can we know?

The first BT I ever used worked great and didn't leave a funky smell. Things that make you go hmmmmm!

Seeds, and ice water extract for the win :weed: bongsmilie

This guy seems to have dialed in the LED system.

Here he talks about the changes he has made to get the best results (links to a post):

Cheers,

I got to thinking about the vinyl issue from your spray, I suspect it’s something to do with the surfactant that used to make the liquid more wet. Not that it matters at this point.
I actually knew that thread, forgot about his work though. Funny enough he’s talking about the same stuff I am and that there is a spectral deficiency occurring. I’m just not into figuring it out, I’m not in an experimentation phase of growing right now, I want to work with the genetics themselves not fuck up the epigenetics. I’m going to swap out half of the led for cmh watts. I really think that you’re onto something with the raw photon density of the leds but since they lack the ir and uv dropping a couple eye hortilux in there and keep the logic pucks for photon pumping might just be the elixir. I’m sure that it will stop the weird metabolism changes either way which is what I want. Currently I use my induction light for veg, and it is an amazing source for vegetation but transition to LED makes a beautiful plant into a piece of shit! I really think that that transition actually has part of the problem for me. I was thinking about it I use the LED for veg for my first run under the LEDs, which may have been why they did better they didn’t have to make the transition.
So basically I have to invest in more light no matter what I do and since currently I’m working with older genetics that have never known LED light, so in terms of epigenetic‘s, it might make more sense to give them something closer to what they have lived under for so long.
A little flo, maybe it’s time to swap out my sativa preference too.... this flo is fantastic, sage has fond memories for me also!

The og chem dude, about 18 days into flower. He was always one that didn’t wanna show his parts and I thought was a female for the longest time at this point it’s almost a year old. I kept him in a solo for a long time to keep him small. I wasn’t and haven’t been in a position to want to do any breeding because I didn’t have any females but I’m glad I kept him around. He smells strong and is producing surface resin glands! We’ll see if he throws nonstaminate resin.

So he brings structure and smell, yield is average and I see no sign that the resin glands will raise heads. You bump him and it’s like, ah dang, hi how are ya! Last night at dusk I could smell him at the front of the house, he has that chemmy skunk! I suspect he’ll be ready to dump some spluff in the next week or two.

I was thinking they would be a disposer run, they stalled out and look like shit ready to die. Despite how they look they have turned around and are finishing. Resin production has resumed and they are getting heavier. Apparently .3 more acidic and double the magnesium also raising the lights and dimming 20% but it’s a learning experience, I was vain enough to think I could just swing a new everything no issues. Wrong! Oh well, I’ll eat a little humble pie and step up my game.

One of the new cmh fixtures came yesterday, the other will be here soon but I haven’t decided on bulbs yet, I’m tempted to go with the hortilux bulbs but they are expensive, they claim extended spectrum, 50% more uv and a bit more ir. There aren’t that many reviews out there, and the ones that are shill reviews. I’m squarely on the fence as there like twice the price of say like ushio, which is a good bulb. But the Philips bulb is considered the industry standard which would be my second choice but is basically the same price as the hortilux bulb. Anything else on the market I could get two for one price wise.

Chemdog d x super silver sour diesel haze (that I used for f3) it was a green nub in a pic a while back. If there were more I don’t know about them yet. Was from pollen that got on my clothes disposing of said male. Only reason I didn’t run him against these girls is because I have kind of decided to quit breeding hazes. I’m switching sativas, already looking at a few. Got a Durban coming up, I have loved some Durban!
