Meat madness rooted super fast, 4 days on one 6 on the other with nice roots!

You'll have to give me your technique sometime cowboy, takes me twice as long to get roots half that good. Got a chamber full of Black Dog (blackberry kush x emerald headband right now. I was able to get a bunch of cuttings from an outdoor plant a couple weeks ago from from my gf son. I just need one I'll give the rest back to him. I need to teach him how to clone. Also cloned a bunch of Phantom Kush for him (cherry kush x granddaddy purple). I'll give him all of those back. Just no room.

My old laptop had been [pooping out all summer till i finally couldn't use. Just got a new one they are hard to find these days without having to order it.

You’re not kidding! It’s only going to be more of that I’m afraid, one of many things changing likely for good because of Covid.

I used to just use some light potting mix (not much nutrient) in the traditional 100 slot nursery propagation trays with tall vapor domes. I switched to rooting cubes a couple years ago, I like the root riot brand. The trick with them is to stab the clone about half to 2/3 down so the stem doesn’t stay saturated. They will hold Enough water to be too wet but you can meter the watering with a spray bottle. I used to have to lift up the whole tree thing, to see if roots had gotten to the bottom with the soil now I use a pick and just pop them to check. I find that I like to keep it where the bottom 1/4 of the plug is saturated and the clone can drink through capillary action, aside from keeping high humidity over them that is the most definitive characteristic of a quick root. Oh and some mycos and aloe (teaspoon per quart) because aloe has salicylic acid and minor nutrition that reduces stress for quick auxin conversion. Mycos will not necessarily stimulate root growth, until the roots start. The key there is as soon as a root node hits if it has the mycos they get instant support which is why they plop all fuzzy like that too! Keep temps in the high 70s low 80s. Oh, and I feel like clones like a florescent light the best.
You should see how vigorous the gorilla glue #4 roots. I should have taken a pic of that one, it took like 9-10 days but 3x the roots.

Cool thanks! I use rapid rooter plugs with a plastic dome but my lighting is not very good...easy to fix. Gotten lazy in my old age lately the tray sits on the kitchen counter and get ambient lighting. Like the trick about stabbing the stem, the ones that i lose seem to be over saturateded. I use a rooting hormone but things are just taking too long these days. I'll work on the lighting. Puff puff pass......that new strain i just made yet to be named, it has some real nice phenotypes. Hard to get rid of any of them lol

Puff, puff, pass brother.... wakey-bakey
How’s that strain tasting?!
Toking some True og x platinum kush mints, this one is a gassy and floral og. Very spacy for an og, I mean I usually feel like I got hit in the head with a bat after smoking some OG but this is like some of my brain leaked out too, lol!

I need to gather pollen from the dude today. Some of his spluff got away in the wind last night. I live in town so there shouldn’t be anybody nearby if so, I’m so sorry, lol jeez, so irresponsible.

I have a funny story, so the last time I went to the Hydro store the owner who have always had a pretty good relationship with, he’s a good guy it seems like, started blowing me away with all kinds of political shit. He’s deep in to all of the crazy conspiracy theories that Donald Trump is trying to save the world and everybody’s out to stop him. Talking about George Soros selling us to China and Joe Biden started Covid to get elected. So that was like a month ago or more, and it’s getting to where I need some things that I don’t want to have to order but I don’t wanna go back in there that guy is crazy. I got yelled at for going the wrong way down an isle at the grocery store, I was just following my wife and this pissed off old lady was like “learn to fucking read” and called me a “goddamn Republican,” the country is going crazy mango!

This country went crazy a while ago, but man this year really pushed the envelope to a new level.

Word!
Everyone seems to be on the edge, it’s sketchy.
To many people letting the media dictate what they believe and it’s causing major divides, even with close friends and families that agree on most things. Couple that with so many people being broke as fuck and I’m not surprised. Honestly I thought things were gonna blow up months ago when they were talking about food shortages and extended lock downs, I went and bought more ammo :). I’ve been feeling very fortunate being where I am and having the job I do right now.

The thing about being brainwashed is they don't know they're brainwashed. Blissfully ignorant, willingly blind what the hell is wrong with them.

5 girls of that strain in that run. 2 were very sativa dom and the other 3 very similiar in stature but some smell and taste better than other. All are quite frosty with a few that are wicked frosty. My favorite so far is the sativa dom #2. Covered in trics nice and strong happy high with a fruity taste on the inhale and a fuely taste on the exhale. The other sativa has a very nice fruity smell and taste but has a hard crash. I have a clone of #2 and most of the others. Still a couple more to run through and also a few Blueberrys that are going into flower in a week or rwo.

Heading out on a hike the the little woman and the pup. Happy trimming mang!

Thanks brother! You’d think I forgot how to grow with the shit coming out my space lately.
I’m waiting on the bulbs but hybridizing my space with those cmh and some leds. The cluster funk is a couple grenades but mostly if I want doinks I have to have that far red! LED’s are like raw horsepower they need spectrum refinement though. I’m getting the hang of the leds, but I need ac even with led just for the fine control. It’s the days I don’t have good control that cost me. I think adding the cmh’s is going to complete my setup so well! I just don’t see the led being able to produce the big buds. Something tells me the little increments between spectrum have some bearing even if not fully understood. EG I want the donkey donks back lol

After growing organic for so long I kind of took for granted how much control you have to have over pH when you use bottles. Interestingly though, using bottles is so much more responsive holy cow I forgot how quick they can metabolize a feeding lol.

I spoke too soon bulbs came today. I need to make brackets for the chilled pucks, going to do 2 on each end and one 200 watt panel in between. I also have some 630nm boost stars I can fit into the power overhead in the panel driver I’ll probably add those when moving things around. I’m just going to run the leds at 1/2 power to assure light density and penetration.

Trying to decide who gets new shoes and groomed for flower next. Maybe alien og and a creme brûlée, I got a Durban that wants to run also. The dude I got that Durban from says it’s from 09 Dutch passion stock and has that pungent black licorice and Dr Pepper taste, which I love. Also, I never got jittery from it just comfortable energy. I need to see if I want to keep it, it seems like a totem style structure but pretty tight spacing for a sativa. It’s vigorous but doesn’t need much. Needless to say it has my attention. Ecsd wants another go too, I don’t know! I’ll go get ripped and meditate on it this evening.

Still haven’t decided on accompaniment, switched out the center led rack for cmh this morning before lights out but left one unplugged and dropped the other led for side lighting. I hope the switch doesn’t stress them out, there’s still led panels so it shouldn’t be too hard for them to take. They should just start growing like outside. We shall see.

One day under their belt and already showing improvement! I expect to see some accelerated growth and maturity! Honestly, the increased magnesium required under LED’s bothers me. I see plenty of people grow beautiful plants underneath them but I can’t help but think about the metabolic needs and how much they change going from some thing like fluorescent with a very high CRI index. I feel like it’s less of an issue if the plant has known it and adjusted to it it’s a life completely different though if you’re bringing an established plant into that environment, in my honest opinion.

I feel more confident with these cmh fixtures, I should have given this tech a closer look before. Like most people, I really want led tech to succeed. It’s very obviously the way of the future! As a long time grower, the idea of less heat to deal with at less watts is like a wet dream. That being said it’s like a kick in the nuts when you find out that is going to be the main thing that screws up using LED’s, leaf surface temp regulation with out strict environmental control is not a fun game to play. My method of growing even here in the desert has been massive passive airflow to deal with heat, water evaporator at the air inlet then let the plants sweat to keep their own humidity and temperatures in check. I’ve been growing in the heat this way for 20ish of my 30 years. If I want an ac for next year I’m going to have to look at some solar panels, the wife is in a bad mood for a week when we get the electric bill in the summer these days, it’s such bullshit that they raise their rates to triple in the summer.
For the next round: alien og, Gg4 (I love this plant), and a couple small ones single stalk mostly, Durban Poison, gorilla piss, tidal wave (topped once). I need to run through some stuff through the winter so I probably won’t veg out as big and just get these things done smaller make some selections and so forth. I might try to sneak in a couple of seed test projects along the way but just test hits for the dude. Also a group of different OGs for the spring. Hopefully I’ll be dialed in well enough to bring a batch of og through.
