The revelation yesterday that the White House tried multiple times to pressure immigration authorities into releasing migrants on the streets of sanctuary cities did not go over well with Democrats, who denounced the Trump administration as cruel.

The plan, reported by the Washington Post, was concocted to retaliate against Democrats and target sanctuary cities in liberal strongholds. It didn't come to fruition after pushback from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Post reported. ICE rejected the idea after at first thinking it was a joke, the Post reported.

Members of Congress and immigration advocates didn't think it was a joke though, calling the idea inhumane and called for those within President Donald Trump's administration to be held accountable.

The White House did not immediately respond to questions about the proposal. In a statement to the Post, the White House said, "This was just a suggestion that was floated and rejected, which ended any further discussion." The Post reported that the proposal sought to ease the bed shortage at immigration detention centers while also retaliating against sanctuary cities and "send a message to Democrats."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's district was specifically targeted, according to the Post, noting that the White House wanted to transport migrants into her congressional district in San Francisco.

Talk about childish, petty and vindictive, those fuckers, and Steven Miller in particular, deserve to be staked to a anthill in a desert with honey poured on them, and left to die an excruciating death.

If we are going to release immigrants into our country due to overcrowded detention centers, what better place to send them than a sanctuary city that is welcoming?

Why could every other President manage the border until we got an unqualified POTUS?

Back to the original question sans deflection ...Why could every other President manage the border until we got an unqualified POTUS?

Curious that you think prior presidents managed the border well given the millions of illegals here, guess I don’t buy your premise.

The key word is manage. There wasn't a crisis at the border until Trump made one.

I love it here but all that matter is my kids are safe. Not a trump fan but I got to respect the country and office. My wife was born on 52 street and does not like him. People like me should just respect the laws (besides weed) and keep mouth shut

I live in NY city and during the day you can not walk down the street without trump hate

But in the higher end areas he has full support its really shady to me

Living in NYC and growing will be a challenge, and I commend you for it.
As far as Trump hate goes, yup, a lot of people can't stand his guts, which shows in his popularity polls.
And also, fuck respect for the office, he doesn't respect anyone, not even his wife, so I at this point have no respect at all for that office, or it's inhabitant.

and that is the problem. Trump desecrates the office of President of the United States of America.
It will take years to remove the stench he has left on that title.
We are fools to let a fool hold that office. We can do better as a nation...I hope
