All I use is mg organic soil and plant food. Plants are fine and hanvt had any major problem. A yellow leaf every once in a while but thats normal. I always hear horror stories of n00bs trying to get very technical and fail. Im a n00b as well and mg organics has been easy and productive
The problem child is the soil line with synthetic time release nutes. Not the organic line. The slow release synthetic nutes are difficult to manage, release is unpredictable. Flushing of the soil can actually cause excessive fertilizers to be released.

Fuckin A bro.
Where ya been since you got that new camera?
I hope you're OK.
I'm STILL using MG nutes and soil.
Here's a partial clip, with about half my nugs still left, only vegged 14 days and grew out using ONLY CFL's.
I already pulled about 10g dry before this.

Miracle Grow ? You can't use that crap,it's too simple, too basic for Cannabis. You need at least 4 or 5 different Cannabis specific products to grow a decent plant nowadays. After all, just think of the impact on our economy if the growers stopped spending all that money on products they never needed to begin with. It's almost anti American to even think of such a thing. ;-)
Enlighten me on these new profound discoveries? Because I call BULLSHIT! even the guys/girls in lab coats don't even know what REALLY makes great cannabis just that.

Hey guys,

Was reading through and notice a bit of conversation on soils.
Where I am its hard to find good quality soil in shops so Ive had to get the best stuff I could find.
This is it:
http://www.scottsaustralia.com.au/osmocote/osmocote-plus-organics/osmocote-plus-organics-potting-planting-mix/

Can someone please let me know if this medium will grow my plants successfully?
My medium consist of 50% Potting Soil (stuff mentioned above), 45% fine perlite and 5% coir peat.

I have 3 plants underway in their first week, they do look happy but im scared about the control fert release, sounds like i could almost nute burn em just by watering.
But as I said im only new and dont know much about soils and mediums so if anyone is able to let me know if I should change the soil or keep it ect ect.

Any help at all would be much appreciated !!

Cheers,
jez
Espoma over oscomote.. I heard they use some toxins in their fertilizers, oscomote.

ive got a friend that used MG's organic soil with good results and i was going to try MG's jungle growth outdoors this year but my local stores dont carry it so i tried a company called stagreen. cheap soil but seems to work OK. just starting to use it and it has very very minimal amounts of ferts in it. only problem ive seen so far is the plants tend to start out light green like they need nitrogen. other than that so far so good. only 7 or 8 bucks for 2.5 cubic feet so thats pretty cheap!
Sta-gren is really good cheap soil with no nutes (if I remember correctly) Grew 3 plants in a 5 gallon bucket with this soil and MG tomato food for flowering.. yielded over a half pound of some pretty good bud. I'd cut the soil with perlite though to add aeration to the roots. Also, mix in some worm shit for the N problem. I experienced it too.
