now im just thinking about mixing the color temps like you. any opinions? yours is setup for an even 2500k right? was it extra to mix them?
They don't charge extra for mixing fixtures.
I have 5-1750k, 2-3k, 2-4k. It's a little over 2500k on average. If you are going to use it for flowering only, you may want to adjust the spectrums. Maybe a 1750 and a 3500k mix.

do you think i should just get the cypress 8 for my 4x4 tent (Secret Jardin Dark Street) instead?
The 4x4 Is not the sturdest tent the bars say they can only hold 15Kg (33pounds) on each bar and max 30Kg (66pounds) per tent .

I think the fatty vs will fit in there if i had to use a 4x4 but whats your guys opinions this will be my light for years .
i was going to order a 5x5 gorilla tent for 350$ through leddepot but they out of stock

You should call Timber and speak with Dan. He's got the answers and won't bullshit you.
Fyi, I don't use a tent and I'm quite happy with my results.

IMO a Fatty is overkill in a 4x4. I personally use Redwood VS's in my 4x4's and they are more than enough.

All my Timber's are 3500k and can go seed to chop.
Well Flatrate I went and got another Timber. I purchased what I call my summer Timber. Went with a 4VS - 3500k color temp. As I have no cooling available to me in my space I figure I can run this tentless, with reflective grow material and keep the heat from building up. I'll add a circulating fan and I should be good to go for the summer.
Had the pleasure of speaking with Dan about my order. He confirmed what you and FF have mentioned about the 3500k temp. Every time I speak with him I learn something new.
Thanks for starting this thread. It's nice to be on a forum where strips and boards are not considered to be superior to every other LED.

I have two Redwood VL3s in a 4x4. More than enough light.
I also have one in a 2x4.
They are good lights. Don’t overthink the spectrum. 3500 is the way to go.

The two new VL3s don’t zero out on the fader though which is annoying.
The only way to kill one light and not the others is by unplugging it.
That’s my only complaint but something they could have very easily remedied as my older VL3 can fade to zero.

nice I like your setup as someone else mentioned they got 3 of those 3vl's so they can altar canopy height something i did not consider. but i like the ease of setting up one fixture evenly . maybe ill see if i can change my 3000k to 3500k as I just orderd a couple days ago and not sure if they started yet.

The difference between 3000 and 3500 isn't much and I doubt you or your plants can tell the difference.
I do like having separate units not just for canopy manipulation, but also for tent swapping.
I believe Timber is two or three weeks out on orders so you could likely make the switch, either the spectrum or the separate lights, or both.
I'd also request full zero to 100 dimmers. It's a pain in the ass without them if you have more than one rig.
Good luck. You got good lights, that's 90% of the equation.

By the way, I wrote to Dan about the dimmers.
He's sending replacements that will fade to zero. Just plug and play.
Gotta love a service oriented company.
