This is an update on my grow using a Timber Fatty with supplemental UV. I'm now in day 28 of flowering. The UV is used for 15 minutes at the start of every hour of the 12 hour light cycle. I'm seeing very little heat stress. For the last week I had the UV and grow light about 8 inches from the canopy. (just backed them off to 12 inches) Getting early trichome and terpene development. The plants did not develop as planned. I'm growing Bruce Banner (small plant) and Fruity Chronic Juice. I started the FCJ about 10 days after the BB. However, the FCJ went crazy and is overwhelming the BB. Ironic as the BB is mostly a Sativa and the FCJ 90% Indica. Overall the plants are looking very healthy with little stress indicators of any sort. Using Cultured Solutions. PPM 840, EC 1.2, Ph 5.9.
Monster plant.

3vl checking back in on first grow. Zkittlez og, lost pearl, and glue gelato. The zkittlez looks like she’s got another week or so left.

It's been about 8 days since my last update here's the latest.
So far, I'm quite happy with this grow. The buds are about 36 days in. I probably have another 3-4 weeks to go.
As I mentioned, there is do damage to the plant and the buds seem ahead of schedule and full of frost and terpenes.

My goal is to have the finished product tested at a local lab that does most of the testing for the local dispensaries. I'm hoping to compare the THC levels from those tests to the range of THC that the breeders indicated that their seeds would produce. According to various articles the UV can potentially increase the THC by as much as 8%. So far, just by the eye test, the UV is having a positive effect on the plants.

Hey guys. Im a first time weed grower. Also 1st time indoor grower. Im wondering what the ideal distance is from seedlings. Plus what is the best percentage of power at this distance. Im growing in a vivosun 4' x 8' tent. Im using the Timber Redwood VS plus a HLG 600 Rspec in my tent. I currently have both at 18" from canopy. Running them at 40%. A lot of my seedlings (roughly around 60%) leaves curve downward. I didnt know if this is a light issue or a water problem. How would you all hang the lights in my setup. Ill be flowering with this same setup also. Thanks to everyone that takes time to read my thread. Big thanks to everyone that takes time to share their knowledge and experience. I really appreciate the help.

Novice grower here. i think it could be both but if you want to be careful you could raise the lights to 24 inches incase your worries about light burning them and adjust the power from there to prevent streching . also make sure to let your seedlings top inch or so dry out before watering again bottom water every so often instead of top water could help too. Good idea to check how heavy your containers get after watering also so you can use that as a gauge as well.

@Flatrate...help this new grower? You run seed to flower under your Timbers I think?
Sorry op...mine are flowering only.
I would raise them high , turn them to 50% and see how they react.
I start mine under different lighting.
Make sure your environment is on point...Temps, humidity, airflow.
Research.
Plants require somewhat different conditions at all stages of growth.
Good luck.

As well, do you need both lights running now? That may be a lot of photons for seedlings.

yeah i was going to mention maybe just using one fixture for now on your seedlings and then when they get transplanted into bigger containers and use more of your space turn the other on? I use my timber Chibi in a 2x2.5 tent for veg and have a hlg 65 in a closet for seedlings

@FastFreddi you are correct I run seed to chop under Timbers. I veg in a 2x4 with a 3VL, which is half of one of my Redwoods and a third of my Fatty also all mine are 3500k. For seedlings I keep them about 18" away, dimmed to the lowest setting, so fixture is at 10% if I recall. They stay there until they are ready to go into 1 gal pots. Then I let them grow to the light, I never turn that light up and rarely ever move the light. The seedlings sit on a 3 gal pot, and the 1 gal pots on the floor. My veg light is a tad overkill, but it looks cool!

Yea I got a small deal with thrips going on, but thats gonna change tonight when the light goes out.

I did start seedlings under the Fatty on my first run with it.

That turned into this.

Hope this helped @rlslmshdy thats what I do, pretty simple.

@Flatrate - awesome blueish tinted chubby nubs in that last pic! Gonna grab a couple of their 2 VL's in a few weeks and become a member of said Timber family. Looks like I won't be disappointed.
Trust me you won't be! I am a novice grower, nothing special but I feel my saving grace is my light choice. It will be along time if ever that I replace my lights and that will probably be when Timber comes out with the latest and greatest.
