The decline in healthcare begins

What is not paid by medicaid ( alot) is payed for by people like me who have insurance in the form of higher premiums

Ask any auto insurance salesman why premiums are so high

and the answer is
Uninsured motorists
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't auto insurance a mandatory requirement in all 50 states? In my state, they routinely scan license plates and that has kept the number of uninsured motorists to a bare minimum. Despite this technological advance, insurance premiums have not declined.

I hear you on that. Cant understand that either. Wisconsin has mandatory auto insurance now. And initially rates went UP.
But now rates are going down. Not much But they are going down. I know the last 3 times I renewed the price went down.

Give it a chance, it may reduce costs. After all it hasn't even been fully enacted. Something had to be done. Insurance vampires are getting rich off of our illnesses. If Obama care turns out to suck for most people I'll be the first one back here eating crow.

Have you considered that cost reductions are not a result of consolidating a given service market, rather they are a result of opening up a market?

For example cost of weed is artificially high due to prohibition and the dangers of growing. Therefore there are fewer growers than there would be if it were legal...prices are higher than if it were not illegal. When government intervenes in insurance thru heavy regulation, they limit the number of potential "growers" and when suppliers are limited, the service gets worse and the costs to the end consumer go up. This is because the proper market feedback is lacking, protected classes of businesses have a captive audience and don't have to provide good service. Government intervention, in this regard trying to act as a "service provider" , will limit competition and cause prices to rise and service to fall.

I'd also ask why you want to give something a chance that involves a loss of freedom of choice for people. Whether to participate or not in a program should be a free choice shouldn't it? Or do you think government should make everyone's decisions for them?

You are a stupid asshole and you will ALWAYS be too dumb to understand why the American people do NOT want more taxes and fees for services NOT provided. Universal Health Insurance is fine, a TAX and FINE for not having insurance is constitutionally illegal.

...and even if it were deemed "legal", it would be a law that essentially strips people of any semblance of freedom. If people don't own their bodies and the fruit of their labor, what is left?

The insurance companies will get rich, as they have, and premiums will go UP, it IS the LAW...

what are you going to do, say no? HA... watch those rates skyrocket, remember, this IS capitalism at it`s worst and BIG BUSINESS runs this hen house.

What are you going to do when the rates go up because it is mandatory law to get insurance? Medical insurance in California for a family of 4 is about $400-$600 per month for the basic.. Car insurance is about $100-200 per month, (I actually have a HERO discount as an EMT and pay about $150 every 6 months.)

Hey asshole, go get regular car insurance, you are not a hero, be happy paying $200+ per month. Be happy when those bills become your only life, DEBT.. Someone will FORCE you to pay and if you renounce your Amerikan citizenship, just see if anyone else is willing to take you..

They will treat you the way they treat us now, they laugh in our faces and say that we are a terrible nation of corrupted pigs who hurt each other..

We have the best hospitals because we have the best schools and Big Pharma LOVES hospitals AND government supplied insurance. They dont give two FUCKs about who is paying for it...

YOUR MONEY IS GOING INTO BIG PHARMA AND 1% TO TRASH THE WORLD!!! RAWR!

{edit} double post sorry..
