Magnet can help with that.
Its aluminum . I took the bikes to another shop
For a damage estimate. His derailer hanger is bent so his bike is in the shop until I they get the part in. The guy fixed mine up with new grips and shaved off the sharp metal where the handlebar got eaten up. Now I have to submit all the pictures and paperwork . The bike rack lock actually fell out and a part of the end of the rack got dragged and shredded so I expect a new bike rack for all this bullshit.

Had a Merida 140 until it got stolen a few months ago. Been on a cycling hiatus since and using the elec scooter. Ended up purchasing an xc bike for long distance touring and bike packing as I'm no longer a fully sick bro.

Picked this up for $399 on kogan (not bad for a 10spd drivetrain with hydraulic brakes), ripped the front derailleur off and added a single 40t narrow wide (40t front, 40t rear). Changed the fork out for a manitou markhor I had spare and got some real tyres for it.

Looking forward to a three or four day camping trip from Brisbane to Yarraman and back in the next few weeks.

The bug has already bitten. Have 180mm rotors, new pedals, and new wheels coming. I can drive a piece of shit no worries, but I need my bike to be a1 lol.

Was flying downhill in the velomobile when one of my front tires blew with a loud bang. Discovered the nicely wrapped up spare tube in the flat kit supplied by the guy I got the bike from was ancient with old patches that look like they had 5,000 miles on them. What an idiot I am for not carefully inspecting them or just replacing them with new tubes without even looking.

So of course the replacement tube had leaks. One of the holes was on or very close to an old patch so I couldn't re-patch it with the vulcanizing patches I had. Spent like three hours on the side of the road trying to fix up the tube I was riding, which had like six holes in it. Part of my problem was I supposed to let the "glue" dry before putting on the patch. No wonder it wasn't working well.

Finally someone rode by and kicked me down a couple of old "glueless" patches which let me fix the remaining two leaks and got me back on the road. Cut my ride short and stopped at the bike shop on the way back for some new patches and tubes.

Still, a bad day riding is better than a good day trolling on RIU.

where the fuck are you bro @Metasynth ? your rock solid! i am goong to be putting my new Kuat bike rack together today. my bike ride to my new job is a cool 1.5 residential quite roads with speed bumps. i own these roads. no one drives them at times and i can speed my ass off . i love cutting through shopping center parking lots and the sweet smell if marijuana reeking out into the neighboorhood. oh what a delightful smell as the sun rises and i cruise by on my bike. my collegues are so impressed that i ride my bike to work and they love to complain about the price of gas. i get a lot of respect as a bicycle rider and its a great conversation piece as well!
