QB Watts vs Blurple Watts

At least the quantum’s dont follow the sad HID BOYS ...

Given the losses of trapped light , reflector use , ballast losses ( up to 25 % ) , glass , hoods and efficiency drops from high temps ... only a caveman would stick with HID . Even with a digital ballast which is the only part of that setup which is efficient, still leaves the BULB and enclosure form factor.......These disadvantages ALONE should open your eyes.

QBs , COBs , Samsung Strips all make the transition a no brainer.

Those who complain either are stuck in the past with polyester pants and puka shell necklaces.
Blurples “ were “ at on point... an evolution in grow lights ... believe it or not.
Unfortunately the market became flooded with Chinese clones and cheaper parts .
Plastic drivers , mono color diodes , poor heat management, lousy pcb construction.

QB boards are rated at least 50000 hours .... I have been running perpetual grows since dec. 2015.
Non stop , just cycle changes. So as far as quality compared to having hid fade as bulbs decay , buying more , spending on cooling , ducting , power usage ... on and on. Fuck that.

Regardless of grow size micro or open space ... the quality of buds show. No more airy fucking , French fried , crispy grow issues.... unless you want to cook a pizza. Yes there are great HID grows with the proper dialing, but for cutting out the problems BEFORE makes it better.

2 grams a watt is totally doable... no matter the light.

Simply run a heavy veg stage , canopy management , cropping , LST , etc.

Although I don’t play that gram game ( kind of dick sling bullshit ) especially when you grow personal , like I do . But the above 50 watt grow with 4 plants was to see how well that one panel grew.

50 watts in a 3x3.

They were autos .... one in the rear right corner is a Blue Dream and got bigger but let’s say out of 4 plants I harvest an ounce each ( I know I got more ) but for argument sake ....

I got 28 grams each let’s say ( 4 x 28 = 112 grams ) .... under 50 watts ...
One QB 304 ( 3500k ) @ 18” height .
LST only since they are autos.

So that is 2.2 per watt.

There is no magic involved just efficient light ..... strips , cobs , led , QB ..... Period .

grams per watt is a terrible measurement to go by, wayyyy to many factors and i am not seeing very many getting 2 grams per watt with LEDs besides with small micro grows.
Before a whole new beeed of grower and their leds we were all using grams per watt with its variables quite happily, now its just hype with no real bearing selling leds to noobs :-)

You recount history like i wasnt there or part of it, i assure you yourcwrong and i also disagree with most of what youve said based on the fact i was there at the time until present day and can form a real xonclusion not just the same old market hype.

Blurple was an evolution into the market you hump today, nothing has changed dude :-)

Look at this noob posting above you about his microgrow with autos and his 2.2 gpw......that's who is using LEDs.
Only argument ensues. Between us we know these dweebs been trolling us over ppfd but they were wrong all the time even today they still pull that bro science.

Zero idea of heat science either.

I dont want to correct or fight these fools but what can you do when they take over the whole site but butt hurt them all.

Like the troll wars all over again but now its leds.... Googrief :-)

Looks the BENDOVER BROTHERS have invaded the thread ...

I know yoda through here but i have to say weve never talked aboutctaking our relationship futher.

My gripe was grams per watt and how it can be bent when we all use to use it just fine.

We dont want to get me quoting science over led hype,i fully believe hps to be far better spectrum but fear only a few may ever work out why.

So ya grams per watt is a fully working system for me and da older crew here :-)

I personally prefer grams per kilowatt hour, shows how much you are paying per electric, i also like grams per meter squared, this way you can see what you get per light .

All great but there came a day when slow led and legal growers were scrogging and like started chucking three grams a watt at us four week veg growers who are more a gram a watt. They acted like we couldnt even grow.... till we pointed out scrogs are not really somthing you can base against my three month start to finish grow.

Just far too much of this superiority issues over the years.

Grams per Kwh is my measure. If you get 1.5 gpw and I only get 1, did you win? Time is an absolute requirement in the comparison.
Yes time is an absolute comparison, that how we used it.

No one wins, you could look at why one got more with the same light and grow and thus maybe improve and help a fellow grower.

It could be a dick sling or it could be a friendly way we can all see where were at then help each other till were all at a great level.

And I didn't mean to use the word "win". Thanks.

Which top quality purple are you referring to? I’ve used kind leds, black dog, clw’s and the don’t come close to qb’s, cobs or strips. Hell still have a few xl1000’s from kind to off load.
I’m going from experience, I have a tent with Budmaster GOD’s and one with 6 QB’s they perform similarly watt for watt, although the GOD’s were far more spendy.

I dont understand why you flaming each othee, like arguing who has more good lookin wife/girls..Every one grows with what he wants, and wtf should other dude care about my grow lights??
This is a never ending argument where some people are as stubborn as donkies. I have grown fantastic bud using 50$ lights. There are so many factors other than light tho light is in the top 3 for sure. Honestly blurple lights are sold in the hundreds of thousands to millions because they actually do work. Are they the best? No. But they can make great weed. They’re affordable, they’re a great starter light.

When I was given a private tour of NASAs complex in cape Canaveral (engineer here student at the time), NASA, yes the one that put people on the moon, was using Viparspectra in their botany lab to simulate a growing environment when potentially sending astronauts to mars.

To each their own but some people will never understand this.
