QB Watts vs Blurple Watts

This is a never ending argument where some people are as stubborn as donkies. I have grown fantastic bud using 50$ lights. There are so many factors other than light tho light is in the top 3 for sure. Honestly blurple lights are sold in the hundreds of thousands to millions because they actually do work. Are they the best? No. But they can make great weed. They’re affordable, they’re a great starter light.

When I was given a private tour of NASAs complex in cape Canaveral (engineer here student at the time), NASA, yes the one that put people on the moon, was using Viparspectra in their botany lab to simulate a growing environment when potentially sending astronauts to mars.

To each their own but some people will never understand this.
Typewriters work too but I bet you would buy a computer to type.

My dude, you’re missing what I’m saying, the blurples aren’t the best, but to totally discredit them as useless is incorrect. But I’m stopping this argument here. If you respond to this post I will not answer, you’ll be talking to a wall.

Every new led sees these guys trash the last like they didnt spend all last year saying it was the best ever.

You can spot the real growers from the frauds a mile off. They act like blurple wont even grow lettuce cause they hate not to be at the forefront of everything like they are 'THAT GUY' and we should all follow.

so the answer to the question is that you can use about half the power of a blurple to QB
and it should have equal spread of light plus a better spectrum

Not that i agree but it should read

"half the power of a QB to blurple" not 'half the power of blurple to QB'.

I had a look at some lights on Alibaba that are using Samsung LM301B boards and today I received an email from one of the sellers there with the following

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
288 FOLUX-240H-2(one driver drive 2 boards),it contains:

1.2pcs 288 board(Samsung lm301b/3000K)
2.1pc dimmable Meanwell driver HLG-240H-48B,
3.1pc black heat sink(632x195x10mm),
4.1pc dimmer switch,
5.wires,connectors,hanger,hanging wires,
6.2pcs plug and screws

If 1 set , I can give you the best price USD167.01/Set.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So basically you can get either two sets for less than $340 USD plus shipping to match HLG 550 or even 3 sets for less than $510 plus shipping to make much bigger than a 550 light. I think it is more than half price of what HLG sells them for. And they come with all wires, a dim switch and a better heatsink.

What do you think guys?

The only thing that concerns me is that HLG says they offer 3000K temperature for Flowering and General purpose and 4000K for vegging. Is 3000K going to work good for vegging?

Who in 2017, besides clueless noobs, was saying that blurple "was the best ever"?
Who da fuck mentioned 2017, you lot been trolling this site with leds for years now.

It was weak, hype, bro science and now most just think another exspensive market ploy to sucker punch you all.

I have zilcho wrong with the humble diode, what you did was pretty much abhorent.

Learn to grow :-)

The first hype i remember here were those ufo 90w led grow lights at the end of 2012, since then its been full steam bs from 99% of led growers.

The next worst was when growmau turned seller and you all had a real time member to follow and suck up to.

Your use of ppfd for years only for it to be wrong was the worst claim but your science on heat comes a close second.

Leds breed muppets, we know who you are :-)

No, their name is Shenzhen Meijiu Lighting Co

I actually never contacted them but Alibaba now works the way that when you look at some products details there they send it to the company that owns a shop and then that company starts sending you their offers. Quite smart but can be annoying sometimes.

That the product I checked and they sent me the offer for

Okay guys here’s my initial report -

2x4 tent - HLG 320 XL setup

Started at 275 watts 19” above plants - seems a little too strong as I’m not seeing the growth I’ve hoped for. In this scenario, I’ve experienced it before, and it was due to too much light.

I’m dialing back the dimmer to 250 watts which is roughly 31 watts per sq ft down from 34.

Will keep posting in this thread.

You said "last year" - which would be 2017.

Context, my dude. Try and keep up.

Says the guy with a mini closet and no skills. Brilliant.
It was a prime example of how you slag of last years models for the latest this year and was no mention of blurple which was slagged of a few years back and pre 2017.

Your context is the mistake, i write english and have good command over my language.

Wtf is small tent shit, same bud same wqtts same plant just smaller than a six footer?

Oh no you thing small plants dont grow the same and the bigger your tent the bigger your ego...

Small high yeilding hps tents are a skill you leds dont have as you seem to attack this as well.

When you post well grown plants your at my level, till then your a noob to me and attract attention for your fake led news.

Welcome to Europe :-)

I started with hps, switched to blurple, upgraded to cobs...But I would never mock somebody about type of lights he's using , if it works for you? great!
Exact path I followed. I would love to compare my cobs to hps though knowing what I know now to see the yield difference of cobs and hps. The cobs run so damn cool though it's just too easy to love em.
