I didnt see any treatment markings on my pallets...but i will relook
but yeah they do start too rot after awhile
Actually new pallets are fairly expensive: $17-25 per (depending on wood and treatment) and they are originally owned by someone. That's a fair investment. Technically pallets are supposed to be returned to the owner but folks are lazy and there are sufficient pallets in circulation that usually there are enough in most shipping depts.

I thought most lumber is treated tho ....I never would have thunk that pallets would be treated because they usually discard them after use most of the time

i wonder if imported pallets are treated with "USA approved" chemicals to prevent foreign bug infestation (think emerald ash borer).

i was always leary about using them unless they were new and of raw lumber. Dow and Monsanto use them to ship chemicals on, no?

Hmmm. The ones I'm getting just have bricks/rocks stacked on em and I've definitely seen em rot. Idk i only burn them outside anyway. Either way they make nice tp holders and i can't wait to see everyones repurposed pallets.
