I'm pretty sure there is no doubt about SOME McCain voters, particularly the ones from the south, that are just trying to keep the white house white. I mean you can watch videos on youtube of racist McCain voters. So lets not act like race is not an issue. You can ignore it but it won't go away. So while race is defiantly not the majority focus for many voters, it still is for some.

look at you now u wanna paint the south. I submit there is an ass load more black folks in the south than there are in the north and they mingle very happily with whites, way more so than in the north.

If Mccain was getting 90% of the white vote, this wouldn't be a race.

Rich people vote Democrat, Poor People vote Democrat, the Middle Class votes Republican.

Or more succinctly, people with a work ethic vote Republican.

I digress: The real middle class generally do vote Republican. This would be families that make, say between $70,000 to $200,000 a year.
someone who makes 70k -200k is this person really middle class?
That is what's on paper, the reality is 30k-60k is the real middle class.

You mean the democratic senators and representatives vote Republican, too? :-)

Though even when I was making $16K ($8/hr) I was a solid Libertarian/Conservative. It's hard to support a government that's bending you over to a tune of $2/K when you are making nothing.

Now I make 3x more and pay 8x more in taxes. I can't figure out how that makes any sense, so I'm still Libertarian/Conservative.
