NooB Advice

aghh, I feel like a kid in the candy store with only $1 and can't decide on the ONE thing to get........I need help deciding a strain, I want something that has a WONDERFUL flavor ( almost sweet ) , has a "stoney" high/uplifting but not speedy ( I think that the sativa's are more "speedy brains" right? ) so Indica based would be best I think, not to mention I want it to stay MUCH shorter( gonna do no topping just a lil LST to have the tops). IDK I need to make a decision soon for it to make it on my B-day I want to plat on it ( kinda Karma based I guess LOL ) So ..... motivating couchlock, fruity sweet like, 1 hitta quitta, bakeable, plentiful prod, short, under $100 total ship cost so like $60-80, fem'd ( dont want to waste time on boys )

.........and yeah, it's smelling yummy too.............

Thanks for the post RiddleMe.

I am a Noob, and before I started my first grow I read tons on sites like this and others. I adopted a "keep it simple and see what happens" approach and so far things are looking good. I'm sure I'll have questions to ask you in the future (you already answered a few of them) and I appreciate you understanding that not everyone is a horticulture expert.

hey all, any tips for re vegging a harvested plant? riddleme had told me before it was possible. ive harvested about 3-4 days ago, and the fan leaves are starting to curl down a bit. i know that means that its too wet, but soil was dry 2-3 inches down so i watered anyway, and there was no change since yesterday. thanks for the help

very possible but takes a while, you can go to the end of my goin loco grow and see where I did it, took 3 weeks

ok so i did my reading, when i harvested i didnt chop her down as much as you did. i still have plenty a leaves. ones on top are curling, the ones on the bottom are still good. so should i chop it down more to get the regrowth like you did in yours or let her go? also i put it straight to 20-4 after the harvest, just put it to 12.5/11.5 after i saw your goinloco. is that gonna mess with the reveg?

Little one looks good. Remember, once you go 12/12 it is still considered to be veging until you see sex. So you can go 12/12 as soon as you want, or you can wait until you start to see good veg growth. I was reading touchet's grow journal, and he does his topping or supercropping once he flips them to 12/12. Says its slows the stretch too.

Oh, and show us some pics later when she dries out and perks up. But looks like a good plan so far.

LOL this thing has already shown sex once, (it's a clone) I hope it doesn't herm. My dad said if my tops were racing, making my buds thin/stretchy I should pinch just her "nipples" off, to use his words. I have done it to a couple and it seems to get them to fatten instead of stem growth......plus I get little treats off it, ohhh it smells sooo good when I pop that tip off..........yes, lol I just understood yoour thing about the veg till flower...I am not liking to move it every night so I think Ill just leave it in with 12/12

..and I think it is benificial to do some topping around 2nd or 3rd nodes, people have told me that was too soon, and yes it somewhat stunts, BUT it is nice to have such massive V's at the bottom with so many tops, along with tying her down..... Just my opinion tho, directly following this post ill add a pic, it will logg me out if I try now ( I am slow )

True this is after like 8-9 nodes but all the same with the thickness, NOW I got 4 tops going at 3 inches high( Imagine how many when complete, but still shorter ) Notice how they turned up to the light so fast, almost instant.

the other ones of the canopy I just thought were cool as hell, fig I'd share. Could you imagine sitting under a huge pot tree and having that veiw, wait around long enough and a 100LB bud falls in front of you..... lol

why dont you just let your plant get 5 or 6 nodes and cut it down at the 2nd or 3rd node? it wont stunt it, and with a bigger root mass it'll explode with growth.

wussup guys..im thinking of designs for my next room. im going to have two rooms one 4x4 on 4x6. what you think for lights? i was thinking a 600watt hps for flowering and one of the new t5's 4ft 8bulbs for veg. but i allready own a 400wt hps with metal halide conversion bulbs. so you think that would be better for veg? and i know the website says a 600 watt can cover a 4x4 room but is it ideal for max yeild?

Actually a 600 is the most efficient as far as watts to lumens ratio goes

and I prefer a mixed spectrum (why I like CMH)

a 600 will cover a 4X4 area just fine

Riddle,

Speaking of lighting, I bought some " plant & aquarium" T12bulbs by GE , they are at 3000k light color, but it says a WIDE range , having alot of blue AND alot of red........... what do you think? The info on the box said it was great for growing and flowering.

Civil,

I use a 400w for veg and a 600w for flowering, and I like the results. I use t5's for cloning, and in my experience they aren't anywhere close to a 400w when it comes to veg power. Something else I've learned is that your plants have to adjust to the light intensity, and the switch from vegging under the t5's to flowering under a 600w HID is going to be a major adjustment for them. For me it's easier to let them make that adjustment when they are clones that have just been transplanted, since losing one at that point isn't really a big deal. By the time they move into flower they are used to having a 400w about 12 inches from them (note, thats the distance to my largest plants tops-my new clones and younger plants are more like 18-20" away), so the switch to a 600w thats more like 24 inches away isn't a big deal.
