hello all, i have just made a small grow box using a old aquarium, i have painted the whole aquarium with flat white latex paint and have 2 20w fluorescent tubes, full spectrum (1500lumens together) two cfl 23w 6500k (3000 lumens together) and 1 200w cfl 6500k with 14500 lumens. i have also added a old pc fan and intake providing fresh air.

Is that enough to grow 2-3 plants?

what size aquarium? answer depends on dimensions. sounds like it would be hot in there. you don't need an intake fan, you need an exhaust fan. unless that is a very large aquarium, heat will be an issue, imo.

In total agreement with scrog on this one, also me thinks you may height issues and in deffa need of exhaust fan.

like scrog says, make sure you have good ventillation. Elsewise it sounds good to go.

Soil or water (I prefer DWC)?

You might want to look into buying a HPS for flowering.

its 100cm long 40 cm wide and 90cm high. The average temp ranges from 28 - 30 degrees. and im using soil. is that too warm to get a good grow?

Ive currently got just one plant in there and it seems to be doing alright. but its only a week old!

to me it would seem like you would need both.

So new update! I've scraped the idea of using a aquarium! The temperature was so hard to control! So instead I've built my self a grow cupboard, and moved everything into there! Lot easy to get to the plants too! But I noticed today that on my 8 day old plant, the bottom seed leaves have drooped down! What does this mean?

I have removed the intake now that it is in the cupboard! Currently looking into getting a inline exhaust fan with a carbon filter! But so far the temperature seems ok! But would still like a exhaust fan for when it comes to flowering to remove the stench!!
