Sadly enough babs I couldnt follow through due to finances. Its only an hour away but its tight right now. I was just thinking about this earlier, Has it occured to anyone that the 12th is a saturday? Are they really going to even be IN the office on a saturday?
Don't feel alone with that issue...so many are struggling financially. I'm one of them.
"Ding, ding, ding"..late night epiphany.
I DO know a HIGHLY respected attorney that you and I, our children, our grandchildren are being taught in history books regarding one of the most controversial issues known to the good ole USA!!! And he knows me. ;-)
Obviously, I can't predict where he may possibly stand on this issue, but I will again go out on a limb and just tos the idea to him.
The only obstacle I can immediately note is that it has been well over three years since I've spoken to him.....and he's not young by a long shot.
I'll be infuriated if he has since retired!
Newport, I think you are referring to May 12th?....unclear on what day you reference.

Babs, I agree With you post about the NCCPN:hump:. I have called and learned it is only a group of 5 people trying to round up and orginize alll of this. When I spoke to them last about the 5-12 agenda at the court house I didnt feel very good:evil: about the progress of our bill. Very unorganized, they seemed very worked up and unhelpful, and I also have sent many many emails and petitions with out any responce. I went to Mighigan last year, got my mmj card, and learned a ton about how they passed there bill and the steps they have taken following. I havent seen any such plans or progress out of NC. If this bill will ever pass WE as NC residents need to form social networking groups, build alliences, and vote. My fellow NC residents this is a bill that some of us have needed and been praying for. We have to get people around the state to start compassion clubs and start informing the people about the bill, the benifets, the risks, and how to meetings. From my experiences in another very recently passed state we are not doing much of things nessary to get this passed.:joint::joint::joint::joint::joint:

Newport, From what I have learned 5-12 was the return of the house. The Nccpn was there with app. 50 people lobbing for creditabilty no vote no descions. We are not close to a vote from what I have learned but possably in novermber.

Let me speak with B.Mann and find out whos active in your area . There are alot of ppl out there fighting for this bill to pass . I'm not even from NC and have more contacts up there then most of the ppl I see complaining about this bill not going to vote yet , that are living in NC .

Whats up GD, was googling for info on HB1380, and ended up here:hump:, you know me better as billybudsmoker! So have def decided on movin to Carolina, thats why been researchin all. Any good info you could throw my way feel free. I'll be in Va. on June 12th, may see if i can get a friend to drive me there, Raleigh only 2 1/2 mi. from where I'm at. Look for the guy in the pimp hat. Peace
IT WAS A BLAST , Just got back from NC . Had one hell of a good time . Really like Marching while burning right in front of the cops . Over 400 ppl showed up in Raleigh for the march .
Now the Bill gets heard on June 12 2010 , everyone that supports this bill really needs to be there . Get a friend , your brother/sister husband wife whatever just be there to help get this bill passed . There are alot of sick ppl that cant . I understand that , but those of you that can please do . All of you are patients or know someone that can benefit from this plant , so show your support by taking one day to show up and be heard . 400 isnt alot of ppl when you look at the size of the state . We need everyone that is physically capable of being there to show up . Come on ppl stop running and hiding. Lets embrace this miracle cure . Lets stand as a united ppl to get HB1380 passed .

well for starters..everyone that wants to be active..open up separate accounts and join up with the North Carolina Medical marijuana Coalition or on there web site directly..or on facebook.
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905812960.sounds crzy but we need a way to get everyone together ..then once together...we the people. not the once in 4 months events but the people at town halls to get everyone at a common meeting point were we could disscuss the furture lobbying and commitment that will be needed to take place to get this done..seems like theres 1000s of people that need this to go through .tens of of 1000s that would like to see it go through and 100s of 1000s that dont even have a clue that there is even a bill and..no way for anyone to communicate to each other...we need to end that and have like a 10,000 to 20,000 plus mailing list all across the state and have each one of those get at least 100 sigs. will that many sigintures they would be forced to let the people of nc decide come election time..no some wankers in some committee that not give a shit about anything...anyone with me?.http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905812960

I'm not from NC but do have holdings in state . I will be moving there soon , I want this law to pass . I am willing to make the drive as often as needed to see this bill passed . But what most ppl dont realize is all the signatures in the world aren't doing anything . We need to get the attention of the law makers advisors , with out their support the people we're trying to reach will never get our messages . People I hate to say it but the law will never get passed if we cant grease a few palms . We need to find a trust worthy person and run them for office . Someone with true beliefs in the cause and wont be swayed by the political bullshit and kick back money .

sooooooo...growing bud in NC is bout ta be legal????
Only if you lazy stoners don't forget to go and vote or don't bother to call their rep and tell them how you feel at your house.
You see the reason we left and made the US is because of being told what to do---we now are supposed to vote to see what
"we the 'mass' I use that term loose "mass' are supposed to do.
If only 1000 people call then they think "huh -no point in change" vote NO! I guess" But if you were to canvass your university and local board walks you would educate and get people to call and let the voter know it is more like 4000 instead of 1000 (get it?) Then they would realize there is another avenue then alcohol Valium and zanex...etc/

great point if only everyone grew balls and put in the work

The more I think about this particular med law we have on our plates here, the more I really want to see it pass. Seems incredibly senseless to keep criminalizing good people, for wanting to medicate themselves outside of the established pharmaceutical system, and with a harmless plant. We all know Big Pharm stands to lose out on a lot of money in this state if this law does pass. I guarantee they are pulling many strings behind the scenes to make sure this is not gonna pass this time around, if ever.

I personally know many people here in NC who's minds and bodies are being destroyed right now by a steady diet of doctor prescribed pills, and who desperately need MMJ to be able to get off these pills, but refrain from use because they are afraid of persecution from the law. I can only imagine the good that will be done for the people of our great state if this does indeed pass. Keep fighting the good fight guys, maybe one day we will break through the wall of bullshit. I dream of that day. :peace:

I think there is a chance we may pass it. I just hope they aren't so tight with the regulation you have to be dying to get it.
