My Very Own CFL Grow!!

Hi all!
I got a quick question.
The ladies are definately showing the signs of flowering within the past 3 days
My question is when do i start the countdown from?
The day I switched to 12/12 or the day they start showing the signs of flowers
I know it varies from the times they say to what really happens in each individual setup
im just trying to get what people are using as their standard.

I have always started from the day I see pistils, that way i makes for a more accurate havesting, and looks better when saying "its at 5 days flowering", and it really has flowers.

i start taking count the moment i switch the lights over to 12/12.. usually takes around 10-15 days to see pistils.. to each his own

My little girl said to me today " When I grow up I want to be a Rockstar!"
I said "Sorry, you are a Lemon Skunk and always will be"
my stab at cultivation humour =)

My update: I fed both the flowering plants today 1/2 the reccomended on my feed chart for early bloom
I took the pics a little earlier then i usually do because i had them out for food
My Lemon Skunk smells sooooooooo goood.. never thought the smell of skunks ass would make me drool
The Great White Shark doesnt smell as much but has a beautiful aroma.. heres my pics!

Hi all here again with some daily pics. I am trying to keep them daily through the transition to buds as it may help someone down the line.
(either by my success or failures) lol
13th day on 12/12 , one day after 1/2 strength feeding.

THE STORY OF ITSY BITSY (the little great white shark)
When I first started this post i took some pictures dec 31st (they are in my first post)
at one point my pot holding my first ever clone tipped over. no damage to the plant ,but i noticed that one of tops on the side nodes was growing under the dirt-line
and had some roots under its stem as well. So i said "why not" and grabbed a razor blade and cut it away from its conjoined twin (who was way bigger) with some of the roots attached and put it in its own pot. My First Post has a picture with my thumb beside it. it survived as did the other and is growing in my veg room still. cant say it will live happily ever after but one day this story will definately have a happy ending (for me)..

I'm a dope but what does it matter? You can't really harvest based on how long it is "supposed" to take can you? I'm just asking cause I don't wanna miss anything important. Nice job of making your ladies bend to your will kronnix!!

Its just good to know what math is standard when posting times and info. I'll just stick with when I turned them to 12/12 for posting as mine for posting.
I'm going to have a big bag of weed on me throughout so I wont be too impatient and harvest early.
I may even leave some of the GWS go for a while longer for my sleep aid/its been a hella long day stash

14 Days into 12/12 all is looking good. Great White Shark is looking further along then the lemon skunk but I knew that would be the case when I chose what kinds to put together
I went and looked in my veg room today to see how everything was going all looked healthy. pulled them out to give them a look/sniff and I notice my dutch treat was growing balls
on an 18/6 light schedule... weird.. So I pulled it out of the room and cut its nuts off,threw them in a baggy & put the plant in an almost sealed aquarium. i am gonna let em grow some more balls and harvest them for future seed projects. Its too bad that sucker smells sooo awesome. cleaned my room out after but it was never in my flower room. chance to get a few seeds during photo time wouldnt surprise me.
I am not sure what seed I'll plant next, I have Ambrosia,White Russian,another dutchtreatXnl or I Have a few Jack X (unknown) GOT ANY SUGGESTIONS?
i sooo want some og kush I gotta buy some of those seeds one day

Rock on kronnix and im using the same math. Mine have been under 12/12 for 18 days. The master Kush babes took a week to get the flowering into gear but are moving along pretty good now. I not only waited a bit longer than i should have to go 12/12 I may have actually lsted more than I should have as well. Our girls look a lot like sisters. Always did like sisters. Wink Wink. I too bent them to my will and they liked it. No string, just pinned with the exception of one solo pinch on one plant. Just so easy to manipulate. I forget how long these were supposed to need to finish flowering but we will see.I do wish it was a legal grow. I am jealous of your card but not of the discomfort you need it for. Im just growing for the stone. Shake it easy. You know they seem to like being touched.

Tell me they don't like it kronnix. As long as your gentle and have a safety word.

so how do u top a plant off and how long to wait and what does toppin do

I topped mine once about 5th set of true leaves then started bending it over. as it grew i moved the strings around to even the plant out to get all the light i could, as close as possible. As I did this more tops from the side nodes grew bigger. I LSTed them too. Today I finished trimming of the underneath (not too much) I did little bits over 3-4 days and only what I could see had no hope.
now i will just let them do their thing. I will refrain from any LSTing and cutting unless absolutely neccessary and let her do her thing.
I am not reccomending you do this i am just telling you what I did so far.. this is my first grow so I do not know the results i will get.

Hey Kronnix. When did you germ and how long did you veg for. I'm sure you say somewhere but... Mine are really taking off 2 weeks into 12/12. I will take some pics Wednesday. I think our plants are at about the same stage and are very happy. We lsted differently but I'm happy. I think next time I will just pinch once maybe twice and pin them down hard after that. That gave me the best shape this time so will do them all that way next time. They have a nice even canopy that way and light control is easier when they are all the same height. Will slap together a bigger box next time. 2x2x4 will become 4x4x4 UNLESS I can afford more light which I can and then it's balls to the wall 8x8x8!! It's called my wifes Home Depot card. Ha Ha. I gotta look closer at your first post and what your using in general.

The Great White Shark = germinated nov 17/11 planted 4 days later; popped 2 days later. 18/6 for 38 days. Fem seed from GHS. This one grows great! awesome roots to it
Lemon Skunk = germinated nov 24/11 planted 3 days later; popped 4 days later. 18/6 for 31 days. Fem seed from GHS. This one was a slow starter for me .
I switched lights to 12/12 on New Years. Mine should be ready to harvest March 5-12th.

BRRRRR It Got Cold!!

I woke up this morning Freezing! shoulda looked at a weather report hehe
was worried about my ladies because i have the heat vent closed off to reduced smell to the rest of the house.
An hour later as soon as the light went on I was in there It was cold in there too 53degrees!
I got a heater in there now until the cold snap goes away its on its own timer to keep things warm in the dark period

The lemon skunk looks good and is smelling nicely , My Great white shark is showing early signs of Calcium deficiency though
Little brown spots on blade edges. so ill have to fix this ASAP. My Guess is I locked out the calcium by overfeeding. I took some soil from the pot and did a PH test on it
6.4-6.6 . I was thinking of a flush but im going to see if the problem is progressive . they are a few days from their next watering so if they are ok for then and can get things back on track. I plan on a good flush of straight water with the last bit ill give it a real light nute solution and some cal/mag too ( got to get some) I went 1/2 of the reccomended nutes last feeding .The Lemon skunk loves it so far great color and standing proud buds are starting to form.
The Great White Shark looks good on all other fronts accept the new brown spots on the leaves ( they came up over night )
Any Advice is appreciated in this matter so feel free heres my pics!

BRRRRRRR is right!!!! It's been in the neg where we are and my closet was a chilly 52 this morning too. I have my lights run at night and their dark during the early morning hours because it gets to like -30 here at night in the winter ! That's why I like using CFL's, I can use the different spectrums and intensity to control temps the best I can. I think it got pretty hot in my closet last night though. One of my babies looked a little heat stresses ! Anyways.....enough about me.....here's a link that you should bookmark just to have handy, it may be of some help! Happy Growing

Well its still cold outside, but my girls got spoiled last night. 73degrees steady through the dark period . Warmer then I was!
Looked in on them first thing when lights went on to see if the brown spotson the GWS got any worse but it hasnt spread or gotten worse.
another day or so it will be nice and dry then ill give it a Flush. I was thinking of cal/mag but my nutes say it has that in the micro nutes. ill see how the plants does after the flush and go from there
was looking at my canopy after my normal routine and with some crafty moving stuff here and there, I found a spot to put another plant in there.
So i did. I put the blueberry? buddah? its either straigh blueberry or blue buddah from what my bud told me. hes got so many he just marked it BB and was going from memory lolz.(don't know sex) . its not too big (yet),so we will see how it goes for space later hehe.
