Not to sound like a dick, but those plants are growing tall but they are kinda spindly and stringy. The ones with top lighting are shorter but look more robust. ???

Naw, it's fine. They are all different strains & just got defoliated, so their naked! Ha! I put the taller ones in the vertical system.
But thanks for reminding me.
I will take measurements of the stalks w/ pics. So we can see how they thicken up under these lights.
The Amare & HH each have one of the same plant to compare. But the rest are different. The 2 GoGi's are both in the front of the Cloak. They are a bit thinner genetically.
ill get some pics from the back side next time too.

I never really knew what the pro3 and pro4's were about. I just figured 3 and 4 cobs made them different. that puts my cob total up to 42 now! Shit I'm addicted but I won't stop till I get 2 pro9's or atleast 1

Been hunting eBay for cheap Chinese cob lights. Figure I could rip out the guts and add in some good Cree cobs for a cleaner build. I'll post the bar hybrid once it's completed. Had to order some more parts for the frame work. Was thinking of using some cheap Mars drivers to save money but it's probably not worth it. I also messed up an ordered 72v cobs and don't have drivers for them either. Such a dope.

from what I can tell the cobs are being driven harder in the pro 3 and the pro 3 ho even harder. I didnt know 3070's could be pushed like that, I thought that was the difference between the 3590's and the 3070's- how much power they can handle. But im still learning.
the pro4 makes sense running the 3590's at like 100w each.
What is the impact of running the cobs harder? Shorter lifespan? Potential burn/hotspots?

I think the mono clusters are are close to 30 watts each. The pro 4 cobs are Run around 100w each. The pro3 are most likely run at 60 watts each. Sure they are gonna be run harder which takes away life but I have never seen one burn out and by the time they do I'm sure some massive 12" cobs will be out.

Big cobs are out. They're made by Citizens. You gotta check out Nevergoodenoughs thread. I think that's his name. I'll post you a link tonight. He builds monster lights w/ 300-500 watt cobs.
The Pro-3's have the option to get HO (high output) running the 3070's @ 72 watts too.
Cool option. I'd get the HO if I bought a Pro-3 but it's different for everyone.
That 5 year warranty makes me comfortable buying the HO models. We all know Vic is a solid dude so no worries there.
It's cool Amare works hard to fit everyone's needs.
Holla back atchu later. Peace n have a good day brother Smo!

Did you notice that site offered the binning of the cobs on the 3+4? Top-bin of course.
Did you add colors to your DIY bar?
Can't wait to see it.
Did you get a tracking # for your 4's yet?

My blades will be here on the 16th. The plants are 32" now, so I started loli-popping. Usually wouldn't at all for the 48".

If you have 2 of those single cob builds you wanna sell, Lmk. I'll buy 2-4 off you for this grow. Need light bad.

I checked out your grow last night. Impressive stuff. I really like your bars.
It seems to me that you'll be outperforming you DE w/ only 550 or so watts of cobs. I did not think that possible. Am I right? Great documentation. This forum needs more like you.
I grow big plants like that too but don't post pictures of them. I think I've been involved in to much controversy over defending my Amare & SunCloak against the haters & vendors here to feel safe. It's all legit but that doesn't matter when it comes to these guys.
I was going to cage my 2 wide plants. They are Flo by Dj Short. But, after seeing your plants am considering posting them (posts on the outside) & throwing a trellis over the top, like you did! I currently use a double trellis in the big room. Wall to wall. Gotta crawl the whole grow.
If I had more light, I would dedicate the Amare SE-450 & the HH just to those 2 plants (Flo). That would provide another side by side too so we can all be sure the HH sux. But at this point, I think I'm just gonna hang some Sylvania 120 watt replacement spot-lights around the HH to enhance w/ white. Just waiting for Lowes to get them back in stock.

I haven't began to build because I feel Amare has got me covered for almost the same cost & I don't have the time.
But, I am or was a contractor by trade for many years, own all the tools & could build some sick lights w/ housing too. I own a 12' or so break for bending metal. It wouldn't be hard.
Also, I'd have to learn how to do it from scratch rather then buying pre-fab DIY, which is the same cost as a good light.
Nice plant under that Mars too. How's that do in comparison to your other lights. Is it really as bad as people say or do they just lack the skillz?
Glad to have you here. You're a great grower it seams.

Yeah man crawling sucks, its how i have to get to about 90% of my plants.new shop will def have tables so i can stand up and work.the mars is comparable to a 600w imo but it also gets as hot as a 600 lol.
Dont be shy, show us some them bigger bitchs now n then.ya know you can always say something like "these are a friends plants " lol.
I guess being in a med state i have ki fa relaxed on all that shit.
12 foot brake,i would love to have even a 8 footer.you musta been a siding guy thats a big damn break haha.

Actually, it's been 2 years since I used it. I think it's a 10'.
Yeah, did frame to finish, old & new construction. A+ certified w/ the BBB since "07". High ratings on Angies list too as well as a few other sites.
I miss it, but like growing a whole lot better. Maybe I'll slide you a few pics via PM. I posted the HPS room here n there but try not to when it's 12 lbs. deep.
So, if the Mars is about equal to a 600 HPS, how many watts does it use?
When I finally do build, I'll be putting my drivers outside the room like you did.
All my ballasts are outside the room. Same rules should apply.
Ok, ttyl!

HH COB Conversion! !!

Its the mars 2 1600w or so they say lol.it draws like 750w from the wall if i remember right.but its not even 2 years old now and has about 10 burnt diodes.it prolly looks like airwalkers eco light inside, all cramped full of shit lol.

Awesome! That'll be cool to see. Keep your leds and drivers from it though and use them for side lighting somehow.
Definitely do a step by step guide on what you do when you do it, too.

Hybrid I have been searching high and low for cases where we could just kinda plug and play with DIY cob kits but I'm striking out. I think the only way besides doing a erector set frame is to buy a cheap eBay cob light for around a hundo and swap out the goods. This all makes me think DIY is only good for personalized builds cause we can't make the se-450 for under 800

Oh, so your 750watt Mars is about equal to a 600watt HPS? Mmmmnnnhhh, sounds about what I expected from a Mars.
For the plants you grow bud, a few Pro-9's InLine Cooled would make you a real happy camper. They put out way more light then a 1200 watt Gavita DE. Plus the option to vent.
A good grower like you could probably pull 3 plates off a Pro-9. Maybe even more.
Yes, all that light packed into a 2'x2' fixture, defying all the laws of this forum in regards to spreading out the light.
If anyone should/could show what a Pro-9 could do, I think it should be you bro.
If you're interested, Lmk, I'll put the word in & see if you could get a super-sale deal if doing a thread on it.
I would love to be that guy but don't have the ceiling height yet.
My man, (you know who you are) is about to change all that for me though! I'm very fortunate to have met such a good dude as BigSmo here. Amare does bring good people together.
Just like smoking weed used to back in the early 99's. Who remembers smoking a joint w/ someone & automatically becoming friends? Ha! Good ole days!

I'd rather not have everyone see me at my first build. Looking dumb. Lol! But maybe.

These are not good pics but it's a rough idea. Just started week 3. Almost, all different strains & all new. So in just learning what each plant does & what they like. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgThe Purple Punch turned out to be quite the stretcher & blocks out the photos kind've.
I use side-lighting but that blocked out too. Lol!!
This is a great run though because it's my first one using the mini-split.
First time having adequate Co2 because of it.
