mushroom grow bag help

Yeah. After you case it. Cover the pan with plastic wrap (if you wish) or cover your whole chamber with a black plastic bag or two. This way the CO2 can build up. Then leave it for 10 days in the dark. Don't unseal it. Take a peak to see if it is ready to fruit. You can read up some more in the mean time.

well, i decided to skip the casing as this is my first time . i went with the old dunk and roll tek.i think part of the prob is that the mycelium had dried out in the bag. anyways i dunked for 24hrs, then rolled in organic verm. it is now in the fruiting chamber. i am afraid that i might have waited to long and failed on this one but we'll see i guess. do i mist the walls or the cake or evrything ? i have distelled water to? canon camera 001.jpgcanon camera 002.jpg

Don't worry about it. Everything will probably end up perking up. What I notice with the shrooms is that they always make you think that things are about to go sideways. And then, Bam. They don't. Now go inoculate something while you wait.

Already prepared for the worst. I have had 6 1/2 pint jars incubating for about 5 days now. I will succeed one way or the other

Is that green on the cake or just the picture?
Dunk and roll is basically a casing, works the same.
Good luck!

thanks bud. i dont think there is any mold ... not yet at least. do you have any clue how long it takes to see pins forming after the dunk.?4-14 days maybe. ? anything after is a loss?

Yea 4-14 is about right.
I usually see pins in a week and then a week after that the fruits are ready to pick.

that big light probably isn't the best idea - too much warmth, unless of course you are using the light for that. You might want to think about a flurescent.

Your best bet would have been to case inside the bag, just cut the top off of the bag, consider placing that in a black bag - or your fruiting chamber, but it is too late now.

its just a 13w 6500k fluoro. in side of a workshop light. i have 6 more jars incubating now. i used 12 ccs in only those 6 1/2 pinters.i think i might have put too much spores in them . hopefully this is not bad?:-(

It isn't bad, it is only a waste of spores.

what do i do now ? just fan every day? no more misting? my humidity is at about 80% percent btw. and droppingIMG_0067.jpgIMG_0068.jpg

Mist every day to maintain <90% humidity.
Those are in a tub right?
Tin foil isn't good stuff, just set the cake in the tub.
Fan 3+ times a day.
The humidity is important but fresh air exchange(fae) is more important.
If you keep fae and humidity up you should see pin within the next week.

EDIT: Is that a pin in the bottom left?

yes there are two pins . now what?

Morfin is essentialy correct, however, you will get more aborts and your mushrooms will not grow correctly when your humidity is below about 85. Try getting a block of open cell flourist foam and soaking it in RO or better water and placing that block in there with it.

Is that why my mushrooms usually grow sideway when I don't use perlite?
I thought maybe the cakes smooth edge caused that.
