cheap way to make a carbon filter? any way to utilize crushed up charcoal?

I knew they would have it rough. I planted them in MG soil. Had it lying around when I threw this together. The smaller one is getting burned by the soil and the larger one was actually a burn from being too close to my 65w cfl. Stupid heat.
That crinkly-leafed one is my favorite. I'm have great plans for that one
Considering it's just a half assed attempt to become familiar with feeding routines and to see what can be gotten out of this bagseed I'm quite pleased.
Been working on a homemade hydro setup but I really don't like the way it fits inside my case, so back to soil till I can find a better way to do this. Was thinking of building a flowering enclosure out of an older three drawer filing cabinet. Then I could use the pc for vegging only and I wouldn't have to worry about a carbon scrubber and thus could use the 100w cmh I picked up super cheap

Here are a few pictures of my plant at 20 days from seed under 24-0... Any ideas when I should change it to 12/12? How much taller once I do change it over will the plant grow? I also have a few pics of my HPS setup there as well.. Any idea if this an indica or a sativa?

Oh man flower them NOW, or you'll never have em fit in there, I always flower 12/12 from seed when i do micros. AND still have to top em, and LST them.

Look's like its leaning more towards the Indica side to me short and bushy.
Re-did my grow box today lemme know what you all think?
Lookin real good slim, Intakes keepin roots cool, exhaust in the most convienient and effective place. How are your temps? You able to move that power bar up? You should, gives ya an extra inch or 2, then you can just put spacers under your pots to get em closer. Other than that lookn good.

OK, a lot has happened.
1. Rescue Mission Nugs have been cut down, manicured and are curing.
2. Pistle Porn pictures below of my lemon skunk, and my Hollands hope/LemonSkunk Cross.
Lemon Skunk is super bushy. and the Cross is kinda sparce but is also about 7 days younger.
GAVE AWAY the third plant as a house warming gift to my buddy.
