at last! a hangout for the micro people
i've got a couple of pc case grows going
i just did a grow with cfl's that many here would call micro, 78w of cfl, but it gave me 35g of dry bud, really strong bud so 35g was a bit more than i needed

so here's my simple setup, a single 26w cfl with a couple of clones
1 clone isn't doing to good, the other i am more hopeful with
i'm pushing the envelope with 26w, many will say it's too low, but i'll take one for the team

Welcome ALL. We need a sub forum for this, and as i understand it's already being worked on, so for the time being we can start here.

Who's Got micro grows going? Lets see your pics, progress, and preferences!!!

I have converted this old night stand into a micro grow. It works awesome. Temps are perfect all the time.
From looking at it, I'd go with more ventilation, but if you say temps are good then no need. I'm suspecting the plexiglass helps with the temps quite a bit. Do you have any ventilation going on in the CFL area? I've been toying around with plexi between lights and plants but haven't had much luck in it affecting temps.

If you can spare the space, I'd add one or two mid-level CFLs to add additional lighting to the plants around mid-way, of course this will add more heat closer to your plants so it might affect your temps more. What wattage are your CFLs?

Excellent job man! I'm growing in a cabinet about the same size (door + two drawers). I've had issues controlling heat but other than that it works out perfectly. I'm using emergency blanket only 'cause I was too lazy to paint, but painting is a much more economical method, also helps keep your temps down. Sorry to hear about the sweep man, hope this grow looks good.

+subbed :)

Edit: wow, I didn't read the other pages, blah. Yes we need a micro growers thread (I'm running a PC and the one talked about above). I love to see micro/stealth grows. Gives me ideas and helps others with various problems in these types of grows (heat, lighting, etc..).

WELCOME TO THE THREAD!! And it's true you'll need more light for those girls when they root. And as a practise keep the plants 1-2 inches away from that light. they won't burn if you have proper air flow.

Hey welcome to the thread. I hope to discuss more with you. I also feel i can solve your heat issues when i explain my venting method for micros. I'll do a simple paint program diagram and post it. The method makes a 10-15 degree difference in lowering temps. One fan is typically needed.

My CFL's are all 42W a piece (2800 lumen) 2-2700K and 2-6500K

try to take a close look at the pictures that i previously posted. 3/4 of my venting system is looking after the CFL portion of the Box.

I'm not going to add mid way lights, i'm going to LST instead. And i got EXCELLENT reflection in my case now and with 4- 42 watt cfl's up top, i'll do good.

Bagseed germinated for almost 3 weeks in a paper towel in a ziplock that I found after discovering EVERY plant from my first germination was male :( Why waste em?

Same container is really just laziness coupled with a lack of motivation to give a shit about them. Waiting for my real seeds to show up :)

building bad habits now are we.. lol

Sorry i didn't realize i haven't posted any pics of the other lemons in the micro too good, so her we are, group shots and solo's.

To answer questions i know will arise, the yellowing was a soil problem, plants have since been transplanted into proper organic soil.

The DROOPING IS NOT OVER WATERING. First one who says it gets a slap. I pulled these girls out during the middle of NIGHT CYCLE for these photo op's (they prolly hate me for it)

30 min after lights on, these girls are perky.

All of these are lemon skunk grown from seeds i bred myself to be feminised.

The one in the shot glass, is the TOP off the topped Lemon in the privous photos. I cloned it, made the perfect cut, dipped her in the gel, and clipped her fan's. Sprayed her down, and incubated her inside a plastic water bottle. What the hell eh? Strait up cola with roots is likely what I'll get. COOL.

LMAO yah I've been noticing that myself, I have the exact same one! Got mine for like $6.99 at wallyworld though I've been looking at ones with dual-remote sensors to go into each grow area. The one I have now does the job just fine.
