I have an apollo 4x4 tent thats on its 5th grow with 0 problems now. Gorillas are sweet but I just cant justify spending all that money on a tent. I dont have any light leaks, zippers still kick ass, and the frame is strong as hell, I got everything hanging from it. I have a few other tents that I'm really liking as well, all under 100. Not knocking the Gorilla tent, just that as a new grower, I think there might be better way's to reinvest. Light would be a good call.

as far as lights go, I love HID and wouldnt go any other way. LED's are still gonna give off heat you're going to need to remove if you have enough of them to be worth a damn. Spend 60 or so on a halfway decent extraction fan, and a filter, which you'll need anyways. I run a 800w, with the fan all the way on low, and it never gets above 81. no smells ever, either.

it has a slightly higher initial cost, but pays for itsself in quality and yield in the longrun.

Thanks for your opinion. I appreciate it. Now I remember the other name I was trying to think of. Yes, I’ve heard good things about the Apollo brand. I’ll have to check that out. No sense spending more on something just as good.

Also, I don’t want you to think I’m some mindless follower, but it seems the consensus is that those blurple lights veg well but will not produce the same yield/quality as some other leds or hps. After all, quality and quantity are both important to me personally. I’d hate to have to pick between the two. It’s your grow and I won’t hate on you either way.

I just ended up getting a lot of their shit based on good reviews, and I love it. I got the purple reign ballast, a 600w dimmable ballast, cooltube, and a bunch of bulbs all from them. The only problem I ever had was when I first got it, I blew my bulb by turning it off and on too much like a dumbass. whoops. Bought a couple new ones, they're doing just fine.

So you’re using that in the 4x4? That’s actually the size I would like to upgrade to. Maybe even 6’ high. I noticed with the suction my single plant is kinda cramped up. I lst’d and added a homemade scrog for good measure. I guess I’ll decide on height after this first grow. Thanks for the ideas though.

that is correct fellow earth dweller. the 4x4x7 fits perfectly in a closet in my basement. got my light way up, I love it.

So is mars hydro 300 watt led with a true wattage around 130 considered a blurple? Also, what about a 150w ufo growstar led with true watt around 75?

I'm running both of these lights in a 2x2x4 tent. Seems like they are growing ok

Not sure about the growstar, but yes, Mars is a blurple. They do veg well, but apparently not well enough in flower, which is the most important time.

You're spot on with that man. I did the same exact thing and looked at Amazon reviews and it sold me. But in YouTube there is a good amount of people running these with successful results. Good luck on your grow though man. Here's mine 31 days in. Not sure when to switch to flower as tent is only 4ft tall lol

There are much better lights but at just over 200w (50w per square foot) you should be fine.

I guess I can’t hate on my lights just yet. Haven’t started flowering yet. The thing that makes me wanna change lights is when you start hearing about gram per wattage. I think what I heard is like .5 per watt for blurps. Some people with good lights can get over a gram per watt. That’s the thing for me personally.

Well you should figure something out because depending on your strains you could outgrow your tent real quick. I was told I should top and lst and then scrog. I did all of that except topping. Basically the bushier and wider the better. Next tent I get will be 7ft tall lmao
