personally i would use 3 off the bs900s. I have 4 chromes and a bs500 in an area thats 3x8 and 7' tall to maximize my coverage and and get great yeilds. I also have 3 of the bs 900s with 1 more on the way that covers a 4x8 area.

Damn you guys just have some decent cash with that many units. Im working with 2 240w units and a 300w.Chinese led. Beleive it or not check some of my old posts but I shit you not I probably was growing in a 3x6 no light movers and most I ever pulled off a grow was a half p with just those lights.... the lights are great if you utilize them right.......

im still out on that 1. The chromes have more 60 degree lenses so my they are higher than what i kept the older bs500. So far so good though, i just had a really good handle on the older lights and had to go and change things up some, like a dork.lol The also have more white in them also. Its still hard to be the 900s though. Im waiting on the 900 chromes to come out and give 1 of those a try.

im able to get 8-10 ounces out from under the 900s with purple og and blueberry headband. Got some bigger cherry OG plants that went in last wednesday. I will have to put pics up later when i get more time.

Hey guys, which option do you think would be best as im limited to about $600
I've broken it down to these: (want to use atleast two LEDs if possible for veg and supplemental lighting with a 250w or 400w cmh/hps during flower)
Been thinking of mix and matching also, but would like everything to be even. The space is 3X4.5

1. two pro-grow 180s ($600total)
2. one pro-grow 260 ($409) and maybe another led thats about $200?
3. two blackstar 240s ($600)
4. two blackstar chrome 4s (im guessing $600 as i havent seen it online)
5. two advanced led diamond series 100watt ($600)
6. one advanced led diamond series 200watt ($545)
7. one solarflare full cycle ($449)
8. two solarflare minis if theyre available yet ($600)

my top pick might have to be the two progrow 180s since it probably has the most actual total draw watts out of the bunch. What do you think?
I really like the advanced led ds200 too since i've read the journal that put it against a 250w hps and did amazing.

If it were me and I wanted to fill a 3x4.5 area with leds, I would basically double the amount of panels you listed...so the models you only said one of, i'd get two, and where you said two, i'd probably do 3 or 4. I'd want something pretty close in end results to a 600w hps for that size area and what you listed im not sure would accomplish that. That's what i'd do, or at least start out small and add more lights over time. Good luck, and ps, I have a 200w diamond series and it rocks. Your other choices are good too.

hey guys,

Slix here again back from the dead. wow its changed in the LED scene now, doesnt seem to be about power saving anymore :P I had no idea that there was a seperate forum for it! might need to see if I can get my homemade light thread moved here :).

Anyway..

I got bored last week and built another LED light. This one consumes 235w and I have 450nm Blues, 630nm Red and 660nm Red and 2 3000K warm white 3w modules. I had 2 designs in mind, see below images:

So then I got building..

Got a chassis made up at my local metal shop. and started building the light and wiring. Had pics of the build during production but unfortunately all I have is the finished product and the results.

I used existing LEDs from my previous supplier and bought eBay 680mA LED drivers that drive 18 LEDs in series. she is sure bright. time to see the results.. coming soon.
