  • Man now i'm stuck, not sure which pair i should get, two blackstar chrome series, or two solarflares. What kind of yields do you think one could pull off with a pair of either of those? will be doing dwc setup with two tubs, maybe 2 girls a tub (or 3) and scrog
full 200w version, i'm not sure they have the mini's out yet, and its a great light thou since they packed everything in close and its real 5w it puts off about twice the heat my blackstar chrome series led does, still in the cfl heat range not near HID type heat but its something when most leds put off almost no heat. if you look thru the "led uses unite" thread you can see comparison pics or in my grow thread the blueberry & buku lst & fim thread or whatever i called it ... :) good luck picking your light
dude contact guys at california lightworks i got the solarflare for 299.oo from them, so you could get two solarflares for your 600 buck budget!
I think in that space you could use a 400W CMH. in my 2x4 closet I use 2 400W CMH's. Just make sure you set up the room to move enough air to keep it cool :)
Hi doug! I think that the light you linked would work fine! My old set up used an old school sun system 4" air cooled hood, and I mounted a DIY ballast kit on top of it (the kit cost $35 lol). It worked GREAT for me until the ballast died, but what you linked looks like a higher quality product than what I used.

So long as it uses a magnetic ballast, you are OK. The 250W and 400W CMH use magnetic ballast, and the bulbs below 250W use Pulse start metal halide ballast.

Make sure you get the Phillips HSP retro white CMH bulb though, that is the only really good one on the market, and it is the only one rated for an open fixture.

depending on your flowering chambers size, you may not even need the LED's with the 250W bulb, but I am sure the added LED's wouldn't hurt!

Let me know what you go with, and how it works out for ya!
